Rant: Why do people insist on believing that technological advancement is so good? Sure all these things are nice. (Yes I know, I'm sitting on a computer and complaining about it.)
Cell Phones for example are linked to the disappearance of many bees. Bees are of course needed for pollination.

How is it that people can sit here and complain about what a shitty world we live in but then sit on their cell phones and text like it's going out of style? How can they sit here and complain about inflation on gas/global warming when practically everything we do now is a contributor to these things?
I hate cell phones. I hate them with a passion. I hate when you're walking through a store and some dumb blonde chick is gabbing on her phone and not paying attention to where shes pushing her cart. I hate when people are driving down the road and using them. I hate it that my husband is totally fascinated with getting the best phone there is, switching it and changing it and renewing his plan and finding the best gadgets to go with his phone so he can be more lazy. I hate all these teenagers who walk around with cell phones like they're the latest fashion item. And I hate worse that the cell phone companies are selling their ideas to the younger population. I hate to see people who are supposed to be working, peeking inside their pocket to see what someone texted them. My husband always yells at me when I go out somewhere and I don't turn my phone on. He says "Why do I buy you one if you're not going to turn it on." I said, "Exactly. I don't need one." I've had it for a year and I probably only used it 6 times in the whole year. He wants me to turn the phone on so that when Im not going to be home when I expected to be home, that he can call and find out why. I figure he'll find out when I get there. At least, before cell phones, thats what he would have had to do anyway. (I think maybe next time I'm out I'll buy a post card and slip it in the mail explaining I'm going to be late.
)

I agree to some degree. Never heard of cellphones affecting the bees though, until now. Anyway, when people talk on the phone in public places, they are ignoring the people around and it's rude. They don't go to some quiet corner, they go though the store or sit in the bus and are on the way and loud. Many people don't seem to realize that there are controls for adjusting the microphone and internal speaker volume, maybe because you can only see the screen when you're not holding it against your ear. 
I've had two cellphones in my life, first one when I was 18 and second one for a couple of years now. But some people change their cellphone like every year. Also it has lead into operators competing and always calling you if you would want to switch your service provider. Well my bill is less than 5 euros a month, I don't think it could get much cheaper than that.
