Choking/Slapping/Poking

Postby sammigurl61190 » Wed Mar 17, 2004 4:00 am

Okay, well first, <singsongy voice>I'm baaaaack!</singsongy voice>

Okay, now, don't ask how this arose. :D

But. I think you should be able to have choking projects. It could take a turn or two.

765-2: Project Choking a man in his twenties has been finished (1 dead body, ending up on the ground).

The more peole help, the more sucessful the chances are, and the faster it goes. But the maximum characters helping on one project at a time could be two, since you can't get 3 hands on a neck.

I also think that you should be able to do slaps as often as you want, and you should be able to poke animals as often as you want. You should also be able to poke people, and slap animals. Just a few suggestions. :)

I think that could be implemented in a different way and that if it as possible to have a "perform action" button as well as the "talk" button. It would just be like the "/me" thing on irc but it would IMHO serve its purpose.

I think it would improve the game to see some body language of all kinds. It would be easy to signal that your char is frowning, laughing, crying etc

If it is zero damage should it really be considered "violence" and limited?

Yeah, but in lots of places even slapping is considered an act of violence, so serial slappers would be prosecuted, although likely with less severity, as a serial slasher.

Except in places like Naron or Olip North or Seatown Forest. They don't take crap. That'll likely be an instant death situation

Not necessarily. Fiona got away with slapping once. And the other person attacked her! She should have gotten killed! XD

No, I can't let that go.

Yeah, well that was back in the day when Naron sucked. And all the guards like Fiona (some more than others ) so she could probably get away with it again too.

My friend the Industriallist came up with the idea of using slapping as a greeting, like shaking hands. IRL you shake hands to indicate you have no weapon. In game you could slap someone and therefore forefit your opportunity to hurt them that day, indicating you don't mean any harm.

Good. And with that, Cantr culture evolves.
I must admit, I am obsessed with culture, I hate when people RP characters that have super democratic ideals, and are spawned in Lad.
Simply not reasonable, IMO.
If you are born under a system of oppression, you would be used to it.
Hell, look at the Iraqi's. They didnt want the USA to step in, even though they had Saddam at their helms.
And any media coverage that says otherwise is PURE propoganda.
