Colour Blind

Postby Money » Sat Mar 08, 2008 3:13 am

Are Cantrians Colour blind? I was just thinking they cant show colour in their clothing (see suggestions) So is it possible that they are colour blind?

I think it's because some materials vary in colour, and there is no dye in the game so far. People have already RPed using colour, so imposing some kind of rule like this would be kind of dumb =/.

TL;DR no.

Money have you never saw something like this:

you see a woman in her twenties you haven't seen before

A woman in her twenties: *she walks into the center of the town, her curly brown hair waves arround with the wind to show her beautiful green eyes. She's a bit tanned*

Well...I guess that means we do have color doesn't it? :D

But only when this woman puts herself in the spotlights, and only for the people that are 'looking' while the lights are on.

Besides, items cannot talk, they just exist by their description.

So, characters can live in Cantr being colorblind. This of course doesn't mean that Cantrian characters are colorblind.

Maybe some (limited) personal physical description could be added to the character information, so characters wouldn't have to describe themselves over and over again.

Maybe you could type up a description before you spawn your new charrie? like beside the Man in his Twenties, You could put A man in his twenties with brown hair and blue eyes. It could be more or less detailed depending on what you want to RP

But some of us want to base the appearance on the region, for example Treefeather island: brown or green eyes, dark or red hair while Cantr island: blue or gray eyes and blond or black hair. Also what if you want your character to go bald with age? If you couldn't change the description afterwards, it would be hard to have sex when everyone was always trying to stroke your non-existent hair.

I see your point. So maybe every ten years their is a thing beside it like you implement the brown hair thing and then beside it it says vibarent. Then when you turn thrity it just says shiney 40 slightly shiney 50 dull 60 grey streaked 70 grey and so on and so forth. It would be a non-editable addition so you cant have new joiners have a 50 year old person who looks like their 20.

People age differently, I don't see why Cantrians shouldn't either. Also, if you were to make the desc uneditable you wouldn't be able to write down battle scars, or other markings that can change.

Do you have a better idea. Maybe every battle their is a chance you can get battle scars or something like that.

Said better idea being that you can change it whenever you like. As long as it isn't detrimental to other players (For example "John's green hair suddenly changes colour to red").. I think players can limit themselves.

LOL! I remember doing that, Seko. I think it was one of your charries too.

well, of course cantrians can be colour blind, but to be totally colour blind and so see everything in black and white, kind of messes up the "crown made of red roses" -kind of things.

But why couldn't cantrians be colour blind in other ways.. I don't see the problem in there, just rp it. I don't really see a reason for all cantrians being colour blind by default, though.
I see you.
Now I don't.
Or do I?
Maybe I do,
maybe I don't..
Well, I guess I just don't.

About the creating a description on your charrie so that other would see...We had an huuuuuge argument about this in the portuguese forum and we also thought about that...Our conclusion was: We can't do that because there will be people who will abuse it(eg: "a woman in her twenties with purple eyes and a cool mask like Darth Vader's and with a tatoo in the form of a mix with a super dragon and a guy surfing on hawaii!! Yoh my char pwns!"

err....yeh that's it...We had other ideas like the making it randomized...Just like skills and strenght. Your charrie could spwan: "Very ugly", "ugly", "normal", "pretty", "beautful" and "OH MY GOD!! THAT CHICK IS SO HOT!!!" ...of course in other words...and when an animal/person/lithuan ( :D just joking ) attacked your charrie and the damage would be really big the game would create a random scar in a part of the body of the charrie and it would appear in the description...Like: "a deep scar in the chest" and etc....I don't like this idea because I like the liberty to rp the way I want...

Well, beauty is different to different people. So I don't think a one-dimension slider of prettiness would work.

This has been discussed before and I don't see why we couldn't have it like in Youtube, where you can rate comments nowadays. You could put thumbs up for a good description and thumbs down for a bad description. If you put thumbs down, the description is hidden from you and you don't have to look at it again even if you visited the character's description again. Once a description has gotten a ranking of -5 or more, they will be hidden by default but people can still see it by clicking on it. Each character would get only one vote so unless you have several characters in town, it could not be abused.
