Website Design

Hey everyone, just to ask, does anyone need a website designed for them/ know anyone who needs a website designed for them?

*hopefully* I trust you follow the Web Accessibility Initiative guidelines?

I am very much pro-accessibility. It annoys me that many people use deprecated HTML just because it works and doesn't give an error message. Many people think that what goes on backstage, in the code, doesn't matter because all that matters is the output. And everybody can use visual components and the mouse, and JavaScript etc, right? Well not. But people are competing to make their sites a dashing visual experience and sacrificing accessibility. It should be possible to navigate a page without images, mostly it's the text that matters, the information. But people will use Java and Flash components just because they can and because it looks cool.

Flash is off by default here and if I encounter a page that's all flash I don't bother with it. I've yet to see an entirely flash page that had any content worth visiting. (youtube doesn't count).

Firefox + Adblock plus + Adblock Filterset.G Updater + Updated hosts file + Flashblock + Noscript + CookieSafe = Almost entirely annoyance and ad free surfing.

Agreed.
I use Maxthon and I have everything shutoff. No pics, sound, scripts including java, applets, activeX or flash.
Anyone truly into web design would not use such trash. Images, I can Understand and deal with, the rest no.
I hate flash with the utmost hatered.
I pay no attention to sites using flash aswell. I block that site as I would adverts. Bye bye *smiles* never seen again. And those damn animated gifs. GRRRR

I have one site set to use flash. Unfortunatly it has to be my ISP. :(

I usually have images on. Sometimes I kill images as well. Rare.

Sorry Deadboy, if I wanted a website, I would do it myself.

Most poeple here will probably have some basic HTML - it'z da interwebz.

I'm currently trying to convince my supervisor that my next paper on research presentation should be internet-based.
