I can't see why there is so much polemics about this. This can be solved only by RD, ProgD haven't to raise a finger in this matter. Just make new objects (20g coin, 15g coin) and add those projects to the coin press.

Or, until that is made, make coins from different metals. I think there are zinc at the lithuanian island, so simply adding zinc coins would able them to make at least 3 different coins: iron, steel and zinc one. They can get tin not so far too.

The only problem I see making these different weight coins is a very large menu at the coin press, but I don't think it's such a problem.

Chris wrote:I think that any programming on coins would be a wasted effort. Organizations large enough and trusted enough to establish a currency are few and far between, and the problems with maintaining player population doesn't bode well for them. The labor for making metal into coins, and back again, is a waste. Just use the metal itself as a medium of exchange. Metals like iron have high value density and are already "stacked." You can give 1 g of iron or a million. Coins in Cantr are really just a vanity item like clothes.

If an organization can hold all or almost all places where you can gather some kind of metal (zinc, i.e.), and use an iron-standard (like it was made until 189x in almost every country in RL) to backup the money, it can be a huge advance in RP and trade.

The greatest of them is: if I wanna trade something that you don't want, for something that you have, I must find someone that want what I have, and has something that you want. Although iron is an all-wanted resource, we hope it will be not forever. So, we'll need an universal (at least at some region) accepted currency.

The most a group and it's neighbours evolves, more the prices of iron decreases, making harder to trade.

And how I said before, there is no difficult to implement different coins.

Chris clothes gives nothing just RP, and most people use clothes. The same with coins. It gives RP. It gives a little more realism. That's why I will be always for coins.

Rossato is right - making some different projects for different size coins cost nothing, nothing to invent, nothing to test. Just a bigger production menu on the coin press. If some of us can benefit from that why not making it? If you are satisfied with the current system please continue using the 5g coins :)

Well i supose this post coud be locked. I've cheked coins in game, and there is no whay to see coin weight. So, there is no need for eany new presses.
