Yes, "climate change" is the more accurate term. Although the average global temperature will go up, the temperature in some regions will go down. For example, as polar ice melts and adds fresh water to the oceans, the Gulf Stream and other ocean currents that bring warm water to otherwise cold regions are predicted to shut down at some point. If that happens, places like the UK, Scandinavia, and the Northeastern US would get a lot colder.
