My chars have all boring names... But I try to vary. I have some 'mac' ppl and some people with only one name (no surname).
My most interesting name is 'John Hopskin'. Not because it's so strange or whatever, but because I had no clue how to name, and was looking around on the internet. Didn't find anything that was cool enough, so I decided to play cantr, and think of a name later. Then I came across this:
But when I was at the page of making a new character, I kinda forgot what the name was again on that page, so it became 'John Hopskin' (no S).
Lol.
My latest 2 english characters are named after animals (both silent, because I find that they are on boring places... and I don't have enough time to play them, so they're actually sitting, doing nothing).
The first one 'Jacheem the Lion' and the second one 'Derek Mac Ant'.
Oh, and my very last one of my char is the most interesting one, I find:
Wi Et. Wiet is weed (cannanabis) in English.
Other amusing names I've seen... Jochem van Leeuwen was one. I've never seen that char IG, but the person who's/was behind it told me about it. Jochem van Leeuwen is my name IRL...
Another one: Klug Steiner. But it's more the char then the name... uhoh... it was about names. Nvm Klug.

John Hopkins (<CANTR CHARDESC>)
could look like
John Hopkins (a man in his twenties).

I prefer to see original names. Oblio, Eechii, even Pump Mac Starfish and Nick Paddywhack are ok. Sester Gartaf, Maily Yumm, Maynard Leeward, Knead Moore Coffee, Crag Rock, Armedian Kolof....all great names.
What I don't care for, are names of famous RL people. Show a little imagination, don't just rip a name out of the newspaper. It doesn't even have to be the 'most original name in Cantr'. As long as it isn't too bland like John Smith or Jane Jones.
Most of the names I've run into are very good. The ones I really don't like, are the excessively long ones that are designed solely to be outrageous. Our favorite whipping boy on the Forums has a couple of them.

If you drive an old Chevy, you're all right by me!
