One of my characters, with some story as architect, has started to change some signs to add a building description at sign #2 position. There's plenty of room there to add a descriptive text or even adding more signs. I was wondering, though, if that would be regarded as good or bad RP. My character knows the story of many of those buildings so he can tell more or less how they look, but still it's giving arbitrarily a description to them, adding details like 'it has a small indoors garden' if planters are always kept in.
I'd ask it at the support forum, but I think it's more about players' taste than raw rules.
So...
Using sign #2 for building/room description

I've seen buildings and rooms that were named with descriptions rather than just "Bob's Room".
A narrow hallway
Stairway
A small cottage with ornate eaves
2nd floor bedroom
etc etc
I think it's nice and paints a better picture than "Mud Hut 1". Those were all the main names, but I think using the 2nd sign as a description is a good idea.

I saw it for advertising a business or something similar like "Staff only "..
I feel a little uneasy about it being used to describe what the room looks like - it is supposed to be a sign and you don't get signs used like that in RL (apart from "Clean your Room") . Its also visible from both the outside and inside so doesn't necessarily work well in the opposite case
Also if we ever do implement a location description (which to be honest we have no short or medium term plans to do) then rooms / buildings described in this manner will be redundant - and possibly conflicting with real descriptions.
In terms of room - you can have up to 512 signs IIRC

That's it! I'm making one a sign for a leader named "clean your room" as a christmas present!
