I hear that soon Canada will annex states Wiss., Mich, North Dakota, Oregon, Northern sections of Maine, the city of Buffalo, and a few other outlying areas because there is more cultural affinity between those regions than those regions and the rest of America.
Oh New York City is going to declare its independence as a free entity. kind of like the Holy See, but not relgious. The People's Republic of California will be forming, The South and East Texas will form what will be called informally the "biggest little appartheid in the world". Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Southern Penn will form the incorporated government economy of the District of Columbia, specializing in consultating foriegn governments on policy and bureacracy. The other South Western States will be annexed by Mexico, claiming previous land rights and cultural affinity. The Midwestern States will become the provinces of vast Haciandas controlled by an aristocracy of vast collective corporate farms. The remaining states will form a commonwealth of independent states.

The best has yet to come.
Ofcourse, each of these now independend states had at least several nuclear silo's on their soil, ready to be launched. The systems turned out to be quite hard to crack, but after some time they cracked the launch codes... Sine every state was now warring several other states......

This may be OOC but there is no need to defend your borders against Ohio. They will join in an instant. And with West Virginia the alliance is complete.
Why?
Coal!
We can't burn the sulfer laiden stuff that is in great quantity in the tri-state under current laws.
Once we start burning it up in great quantity Canada and it's annexed provinces will dissolve under our acid rain! The hieght of the smokestacks that passes the acid rain over Ohio and to them is well known. In fact ever old coal plany used or turned down still has them at the correct height.
Ohio has the alot of food and some coal. West Virginia has little food, a little to make steel, and they have gas, oil, and coal out the wassu. Penn has coal and steel and food.
These are the states that won the civil war. The rest were along for the ride and just sent bodies.

You have hit the mark. Quite impressive understending of the situation being that you are an us citizen. They say that if you are close enough to a tree to distinguish its leaves you can't see the forest aroud the tree....

That's 40 canadian dollars please... 80...120..160... Now look at what you're doing, you're littering the countryside with lead! Now you've crossed the line!
Mounty gets his pocket knife and in one motion cuts into the troopers chest, ripping his heart out...
Never piss of a mountie.
Thats real funny

Any way back on topic. I think the politcal relationship is weak. about half of the Canadians belive Americans are arrogant. Me being a former truck driver (I just got off the road) I know that this is not true for a good portion of the american population. I've met many many americans and made many friends, I also have family in Ft Worth TX, L.A. in West Texas south of Waco (west is the name of the town) I like America but I'm proud to be Canadian. As proud as any American is about being an American

USA! USA! USA! Umm right...
Its just that 10% of the populace that shows such an extreme it looks like a helluva lot more. We're all human beings, "equal in rights and dignity fromt birth" [UDHR] and so in the end, we really could all be friends....or not. Its ignorance that hurts soo much, terrorists are ignorant-as they are rad extremists, governments are ignorant-not giving a shit in most cases, and people are ignorant of other ppl-"freedom fries" and to comparison, boycotting mcdonalds. To hell with ignorance.

I'll be happy when nationalism is looked upon quiantly as a primitive defense mechanism as we look upon the way the Greeks distingiushed between "Greeks" and "Barbarians"...
My first loyalties with respect to the world outside myself are to humanity and humaneness, everything else is secondary to that. SOMETIMES, nations act in the interests of humanity and humaneness, but that is not a birthright of any given nation or somehow intrinsic to a given nation's actions. I try to approach people as individuals and not as ethnicities or as citizens of a given country as much as possible. People are people.
All of that being said, I am glad I live in a country with relative liberty (at least for my demographic). Unfortunately, it is the nature of governments and corporations to gradually impede on freedom more and more, not to mention the effects of technology and population growth, which further restrict the individual. Not to forget that we live in an age of extreme imperialism yet many fail to even acknowledge the existence of Empire in the modern world, which is... mind boggling. The rise of the multinational corporation is like the rise of a new kind of nation non-nation, these multinationals are increasingly dictating what nations do, and are completely unaccountable to any populace.

Just somehow, you've been able to spin the topic to Imperialism on two different topics. *kills*

let me offer my spin on this lil' topic of discussion....
The Canadian/USA relationship is the same as it was years ago.... Canada is neutral, has been Nutral, and probl'y will always BE nutral. The USA on the other hand, seems to have become a policing force all over the world. Canada ignore the US the US ignores Canada. We borrow their people, they borrow our "protection" because we are rather attached to their border you know? I have no way to explain it better then that.
My perspective is skewed, ascance and rather off kilter,I mean after all, I am the Psycho Pixie. but fundamentally, its correct. Cananda and the US will never fight. so the relationship is comfortable.
