Since it is obvious that even some of the people involved don't know the full story, could we just keep it relatively vague? Just the basics of what happened. If people want to find out the full story, from the KM's side, they should have to find out through IC means.

This is why I have always supported a 'one year rule' rather than a 'four day rule', so people have to find out ICly, allowing myths, legends and exaggerations to form, rather than people just finding out the real story on the forums.

Thanks.

Shade, will you be my friend? :P
That's the way I've always thought things should be, but sadly it'll never happen. People like to talk, and even experienced players make annoyingly stupid ooc mistakes, such as calling it "Pok Island" when they're in Zhift Forest

My favorite part is probably what is going on now. :)

<hEarty> I know that I am claustrophobic
<pie> did you live in a small house with a large family?
<pie> that would make me claustrophobic.
<hEarty> no
<pie>(oh my gosh, I did live in a small house... I'M CLOSTRAPHOVIC!!!) (just kidding.)

Ditto.

Shade, all the characters that were living up to the point of capture knows everything I know... the enemy, KM, and even the NPZ.

I would take the current government in Zuzi over that bullshit racism of the NPZ anyday. Fuck those assholes, they got what they deserved. The only problem is you would think the murderers consisting of all the individuals in RFW would've been executed. I thought Siom had done alright then they let the little bastards out, I could'nt beleive my eyes. That's like letting out the Manson Family.

wow clam down...all they did was making the game more fun( altough it hardly started) I always think of making something stupid like they tried to do when I see towns like: 2345-"hey...could I work for some iron?"
2349-" sure why not"
2350-" thank you"
2352-" this is a quiet town i see"
2378-"yes it is"
2398-you see a man in his twenties die
2412- you see a woman in her tirthies arrivien at "quiet town" coming from unknown place
2413-woman: " hi there! where am I?"
2424- you see a woman in her thirties leaving taking the pathway to unknown place
2500-"well i'm leaving!*waves*"

 ...it would have been easier to say: "i hate quiet working towns!" :)

I think it would have been immensely interesting to see what could have happened, if the NPZ would have accomplished it's goals. We've seen what true nationalist groups can do in game before, Tribe Blackrock being a perfect example. (And no, I wouldn't classify TBR to be an "evil" group, despite them having a number of evil members). An evil person is someone who thinks of nothing and nobody but themselves and their interests. Nationalists will take any means necessary to accomplish their societal goals, which sometimes includes evil action I suppose....

ANYWAYS, Mr. Bones, it's a game and a society simulator. It would be bogus and boring if there were no asshole characters in the game. But remember, it is just a game, after all, and you shouldn't hate what you see within the game from your ooc perspective. If your neighbor started a real life NPZ or KM, hey, THEN you can hate the bastard ;)

"Evil" characters, or even just aggressive and verbal and self-centered ones, are much harder to play than nicer ones. Always rowing against the tide of bland, always scheming, looking for the angle, trying to shake things up instead of just plod away at getting that drawknife so he can make logs for the quarry.

People resent them because they also take more time and effort to deal with. They are disruptive. If you're trying to just get along, make a few things, run a nice town, whatever, then the bad/selfish/outspoken/pushy characters are the flies in the ointment.

Me, I prefer the flies to the ointment. Flies are hardy and conditioned by evolution to survive no matter how much they piss you off. Ointment is greasy and it smells funny and it burns when you leave it on too long.

Yay!

Mr. Bones: calm down, there is no need to attack PLAYERS over what their CHARACTERS did (characters are not their players and vice versa, keep IC and OOC separated).

Anyway... sorry, I didn't mean to kill the thread. The event was definitely interesting, if short. Short and sweet. Though CantrFreak, I am -absolutely- sure that there is people who were directly involved who didn't know the full story, thus the reason I want some of the secrecy to remain. But it seems the majority disagree with me, so.. go ahead and discuss it, I guess.

Saztronic: that's true. But honestly? I don't care if my characters are not liked ICly. I play this game for fun, and I believe that conflict is one of the main things which make a story interesting. I've only played one character which I would consider outright evil (well, sort of, he was just doing what he had to do really, and he has become more soft lately), though I've played a few who have stirred up trouble, such as my mildly paranoid character who believes everyone hates him and returns that hatred. And the results have been very interesting. Not only did it generate a lot of interesting and fun RP, they also didn't have much trouble getting wealth or into positions of some power, but then again, none of them were stupid enough to mess with someone well-equipped and powerful. But aggressive characters are definitely NOT killed on sight, so for those who haven't tried it yet, I recommend making a arsehole character, roll with it, see where you end up. At the very least, it could make things much more interesting.

I did'nt attack anybody or say there should'nt be any evil characters. I've created evil organizations ingame but the NPZ would conflict with most of my characters in the region, so I'm glad they're destroyed. And you're right it is just a game so why can't we not take it personal when somebody makes a comment regarding a character. We all make comments about ficitional persons when watching movies and whatnot.

In fact if one of my characters is causing yours hell, then by all means bitch away. I find that sort of thing amusing.

I do have the NPZ credit for the way they obtained their shit. Although the slain corpses in the public square, not so discreet. Maybe that was just a rare site, I don't know my character did'nt live long enough to find out.

My charrie + KM gave the NPZ weapons and such. I wouldn't say everyone was evil either, because some weren't.
