(life - 50)*10% + (0.5 + 0.005*life)*(food boost)
So, if i have 90% damage, and no healing food:
(10-50)*10% = -4%
So, I'll die in three days. Consequences: some wounds would be so bad, that only potent healing foods could heal you. Although it could be sad (hahaha), it´s great for RP, since no one can heal two battle axe blows only eating grass.
Food boost may range between 0.5% and 10%. So, if I eat a portion of spinage, (let´s say, 3,5%)
(10-50)*10% + (0.5 + 0.005*10)*3.5% = -4 + 1.93 = -2.07
So I'll just extend my life, but anyway I'll die. With a very good healing food (8%)
(10-50)*10% + (0.5 + 0.005*10)*8% = -4 + 4.4 = +0.4%
Too little? Yeah, but no one can recover from such mortal blows quickly. Let's think about average-to-little wounds, like 25%. Without healing foods:
Day 1: HP = 75 Recover: (75-50)*10% = +2.5%
Day 2: HP = 77.5 Recover: (77.5-50)*10% = +2.75%
Day 3: HP = 80.3 Recover: (80.3-50)*10% = +3.03%
Day 4: HP = 83.3 Recover: (83.3-50)*10% = +3.33%
Day 5: HP = 86.6 Recover: (86.6-50)*10% = +3.66%
Day 6: HP = 90.3 Recover: (90.3-50)*10% = +4%
Day 7: HP = 94.3 Recover: (94.3-50)*10% = +4.4%
Day 8: HP = 98.7 Recover: (98.7-50)*10% = +4.9%
Day 9: HP = 100%
You see like as you get better, you recover life faster? It could create hospitals and nurseries in Cantr, which would be very cool! And another great idea, would be that resting could double food boost. Resting is a bit rare today, so this would add more uses to it, making the idea of a hospital even stronger.
Somethings to be considered:
*Food boost: It have to be very well measured
*Food boost longing: How much time the effect will long, and how the quantity of the food affects the healing?
I hope you like this whole thing
