And that is why I don't have any thieving (openly) characters. Because my characters like to live. Taking items from the dead when no one's looking...that's another thing.

Another question...please let me know when you're sick of me.

Are the damage, tiredness and dirtiness bars on the info page visible to chars in game or is all that considered outside information?

Thanks

Think of the bars as just a numerical representation of your character's (and others') physical condition. That doesn't mean that your character should think only in numbers and statistics.

The Health Bar, for instance:
Bad Example: "I was 98% dead when I arrived here."
Good Example: "I thought I was breathing my last breath as I crawled to the end of the road. It felt as though the slightest breeze would kill me."

The same goes for hunger, as it's sort of dumb to say "I have 50% hunger" when you could say "I'm half starved."

In general DylPickle is right, though sometimes when you are talking about how much damage you dealt, it is okay to bring up numbers. Just remember that Cantr is not all about statistics. That is why you can only see a general analysis of your skills, and not just numbers. If you haven't noticed yet, the only bar you can see on other people is the damage bar. Though when they are down to their last few days before they starve, it says that they are "hungry" in their character description.

As for Dirtyness, I don't think anything has been implemented in regards to that yet.

Uh, mind explaining why? I've always hated people saying, 'I just hit that guy for 43 strength'.

It is good for comparing characters to each other. When you are a strategy player, you need to know the abilities of your underlings (and ideally your enemies) as precisely as possible. The game gives you numbers, so it is okay to take notice of them.

That doesn't mean you have to actually say it to the people around you...
As mentioned before, there are other ways to describe how much damage you dealt. The good thing about skills is that bystanders have an easier time assuming how much damage was dealt. Although there is the option for percentage attacking (which is farely uncommon) but you can still see how much damage the attacked has or the character can say for misses, simply put, "I missed."

I'm a player that enjoys a good emoted fight, and take pride in trying to write decent battle movements during my characters' fights.... It makes it twice as exciting. I once had a character that tried to organize tournaments to try to spot fighters with the highest skill and the best RP'd style. He even offered bonuses for the best showmanship and style during the fights, but nothing ever came from it. The matches were simply "Bob attacks Bill with a club" "Bill attacks Bob with a club", day after day.... The worst was when the fighters started talking about politics with the spectators during a fight.

Cantr is different than this world. One can only atack once per day. To limit their speech during the few days a fight may take is just too restrictive. Charcaters may go into a building, gather supplies, start a new project, and talk to many people in the middle of battle... such is life.

From my perspective, I would call that a strange, less-than mediocre way to play portions of the game.
