Why?
You need to explain further.
No reason?
Why bother?

You see a man in his twenties novicely hurt a mountain goat by running with scissors.

I guess implementing more things to hit with would just imbalance the game. People, particulary newspawns, would hunt with things tools they already have instead of or whilst making new ones. While having tools to have damage potential could add some variety, it may be of bizzare proportions.

Aw come on, surely they wouldn't have that big values. Scissors would work as a steel knife, crowbar would be like an iron-shod billy club etc. I think a hatchet doesn't have a value because people were planning to merge it with 3/4 axes. I assume that would require action from ProgD though. And that people will be making more and more hatchets doesn't help. I think it might be easier to turn 3/4 axes into hatchets and give hatchets the wood and timber gathering values of a 3/4 axe. Because why would anyone make 3/4 axes if the same resources can be used for a better axe?

You start asking for a crowbar as a weapon, the next thing someone will want a gravity gun.

Scissors are a classic stealthy, twisted murder weapon. They should have the same hit value as a steel knife. It wouldn't be unbalanced at all.

And who knows, maybe people would stop carrying a sword around if they could use their crowbar as a club.

Maybe, but it wouldn't do nearly as much damage. They'd be better off using an iron-shod billy club as a club. So, ideally, a crowbar should do a little less damage than an iron-shod billy club. Or, it could do the same amount of damage but require a higher skill level. Or be both weaker and require a higher skill level...

Logic's never been a strongpoint in the Cantrian world, but as a screwdriver has a hit value, and, presumably, a pillow, as you can hit people with it, why not?
Including stone hammers,.

Note that the pillow does less damage than a fist, as does the wooden spoon.

Bump... especially the hatchet. Bearing in mind my comment above, this is surely logical and pretty relevant.

Even farmers used pitchforks as weapons. Why not give simple tools small attack values just for people to have as a tool, but then use as a weapon in case of emergency.

They do. My chars have hit animals and people with screwdrivers, shovels, big stone pots... It's just some things you'd think ought to be in the list, aren't.
