Very good analysis, MakeBeliever. It's exactly what greek philosophers and some Fathers of the Church (St. Justin, who also was a philosopher, for example) called Logos spermatikoi, or "seeds of the Logos". There is only one Truth, and the different religions approach to it. No religion can (logically) claim to possess it entirely, however there are some religions that are nearer to it than others. It's the interesting discussion about Faith-Reason, about ecumenism, about interreligious dialogue...And it's not an easy task. However, if the Golden Rule (as you called it) was applied, I'm sure more advancement would be done, and faster.

But let's have hope.

seriously... god didn't break that rule, so the line of thought that brought this whole thread into reality is... thusly... not true. I won't even adress all of the other stuff in here... unless you want me to, that is.
