Actually, there's a particular breed of men, usually to be found at sea, that's why they're generally called seamen... The sea isn't a mistake here, even tho this particular type would rather be ashore...

If your going to get all technical they are Laridae mixed in with the terns.

I happen to like the term Bildgerat over Rattus since it conveys what is being discussed. The Rat in the bildge of a boat rather than the ones in sewer system.
