Okay excuse me if this is a duplicate but I've searched several times and can't find anything on either of these.
I decided to post both together since they are relatively connected...
First say a you have a newspawn that thieves and gets away. You named him ThiefKillhim.
50 cantrian years later a boat docks and ta da ThiefKillhim gets off....After 50 years there's a good chance that you aren't going to recognise this person. So shouldn't after a set number of years the description go back to the the cantr description???
Along the same lines and I know this would give a great help to thieves and pirates etc but deveoloping some sort of disguise so that others wouldn't recognise them. Certainly more complicated at programming but if fashioned correctly it would cause the character description to reset as above.

As you mentioned, there have been plenty of threads on disguises and masks. As for forgetting names, see the following thread:

A straight cut off line I would not approve. If you were in constant contact with someone for many years, but didn't change their description, you shouldn't just suddenly forget their name. Please elaborate on you idea so that it is reasonable and is not so complicated that it will never be programmed. If such input is not forthcoming from you or someone else, I will reject this one as was done with that other thread.

I don't know much about programming so I'm not sure what I can suggest that isnt too much trouble but I'm thinking something along the lines of if you havent been in the same town as a person for say 20? cantrian years. Then your description name should be reset.
I'm 33 years old in real life and I'd be willing to bet that there is probably not a person I knew when I was 13 except maybe some teachers that I havent seen since then that i would be able to recognise Heck i bet there's people I graduated high school with that I spent 4 years with I would not recognise.

How about having the time it takes to forget one person, who's presently not here, lengthen or shorten depending on how much time you've interacted with that person?
Notice how weak and petty we are / In the grand fixture we come afar / Hey we can't help it / No denying the prerequisite for love / Your very existence / You're the source of my substenance / Slow down take your time and feel the / Flow

I don't see a problem, after such a long time I doubt anyone would care (or maybe even be alive for that matter).
If you're stupid enough to return too soon, expect to be thrown in jail.
