Sorting Clothing Rationally on Inventory/Objects Page

Postby Sunni Daez » Fri Aug 10, 2007 2:27 am

I know I have seen suggestions of the like before but... I don't think it had it's own thread.

I have a clothier.. with many many things... but things are listed in such an odd order, I have a hard time keeping track of what is there... is there some way to adjust this.. so all the hemp tunics are together and not spread out through the list? group them? or make them pile in multiples? so it shows that I have 3 hemp tunics, 6 pairs of cotton briefs.... pleeeeease *makes puppy eyes*

I agree...

and I have a tailor too

I wonder whether it was a problem for ProgD - all items are now sorted by their IDs, I suppose. So it wouldn't be so easy to change the code.

The same comes with notes - they could be sorted alphabetically...

It would make sense that clothes stacked or were arranged alphabetically because they don't deteriorate so their age doesn't matter. But with notes I think age matters.

I edited the title to be a bit more specific.

If clothes were stacked then picking up or dropping items would require new code for specifying how many, so just putting stuff in alphabetical order would be less dramatic.

Well yeah that is fine. Anything is better than the way it is now.

Why don't you just do that Ctr + F thing, then type in the name of the item of clothing you're looking for?

But yes, it would look alot better alphabetically.
I would like to see the stacking function as then it could be implimented for coins (and possibly keys) as well.

Just to push this wildly off topic for the next couple of posts, with notes does the order it ends up on the floor depend completely on when the note was first written? The earlier it was written, the closer to the top of the page it ends up?

I know that can be done... but I shouldn't have to take that time.... would it be really hard tp programme in so it is alphabetical?

( please note the author of this post knows nothing about programmes)
