[hypothetical] If you were..

General out-of-character discussion among players of Cantr II.

Moderators: Players Department, Public Relations Department

If you were a senior staff member, and you are approached by a rich snobby player who offers a $10,000 donation to Cantr in exchange for a character revival, what would you do?

I would do everything in my power to quickly process the request.

$10,000? no way, $100,000? Of course not, for the morals of Cantr.
But $1,000,000!? That's another question...the unspeakable question...yeah, if I was Jos, I would take a million dollars lol...it's just a game ...go end world hunger or something.

You know, $10,000 is less than £5,000... It really wouldn't get you very far here.

I voted no. I wouldn't want cantr to become enormous (if it does it changse entirely and probably to a game like Second Life or all the old CHARPS,) and I think that amount of money would help it to change in a way I don't think sticks with the core principals of the game.

If someone was offering a million for one character revival i would run very fast away from Cantr. Now that would be like the Stephen king Novel Misery. "Hey, I'm your number one fan" what would be next??, Kidnapping and clogging players to make them play alongside the one revived. Run away while you still can...They would have to be an Annie wilkes character themselves and completely off their rockers to want to pay for that in that amount.

Damn, looks like I'm not going to get the TBR revived or Felin Ginger on her feet again.

$10k is to little, but if it was $30k? Why not?

It's only a game. Everyone would vote on the lags to stop, so... a big money could solve the problem. If the revived char was English, Polish players wouldn't even know it. Only few English players would see that char's death and his/her resurrection. That's my point.

If you want the lags to stop, make/increase your donations. And if N-Outwich has money like that to throw around, he could help a lot. I'm sur if it came to the crunch, it could be arranged for his one char to be re-incarnated somewhere where it could do know harm, anyway. Then we could get $10,000 out of him every few days as his char is reborn in a jail somewhere with a psycho jailer.

I dont think so. Some Polish players, like me, have both polish and english speaking chars. And we read english forum, and we are in departaments. Mayby English players dont have possibility to know what is going on in polish forum or in polish zone, but it isnt any poblem in opposite direction.

Honestly... If they're the type of person willing to fork out that sort of money to break rules, then they're definitely willing to break rules for free. And honestly, even weighing in the extra boon to people that may or may not generate, it wouldn't be worth compromising the core integrity of the game. If you give an inch, you'll likely loose a yard.

And there's the strange matter of, I don't honestly like being in cities with more then fifteen people. It becomes too much of a chore to follow anything. All my charries in big cities like that usually shy away from the town square.

I would say noway anyway.
As others have said. It just is not worth compromising the game.
This game is not about money it is about CANTR.
I hate to even bring it up. This idea only brings to my mind "Enron"
I know that there is nothing related. It is just what is brought to mind.
