He wasn't the friendliest sort, although he did love the town. He left on a bad note, I think -- chewed out Helga for what he thought was bad leadership before storming off. Mostly he was just scarred by everything that happened and angry with himself for not doing more to stop it or deal with it.

I wouldn't think anyone would hate him, but I guess if you were fiercely loyal to Helga/Phaedrus you might have disliked him.

The other instance was in Vrayllnuets Hills South, later known as Heartswater Hills, during the days of Artex the pirate. There was this woman in town (can't remember her name now) who betrayed everyone, pretended to be with them but was secretly collaborating with the pirates, who slowly but surely kidnapped, tortured, and killed most every important person in the town. They were eventually brought to justice and the traitor woman was captured and held, brought to trial, and caused bitter divisions in the community between those that advocated mercy and fairness and those who just wanted her head on a spear. She was eventually cut down on the road trying to flee. I would say that was an occasion where a traitor helped a couple others bring a town completely to its knees. The place was decades recovering from that.

Wow, the days of Ryan and Artex! I remember them so well. Though recently I've been getting REALLY freaked out by this Ryan Phelps guy. I've been around the internet for many years, and I've came across him in about three other non-Cantr related settings. In one case he killed another one of my characters! But apart from that, I've got mixed feelings about the whole event. Though one of my characters hates him, Artex and Dahlia for what they did, I can't help but wonder what things would be like today if it hadn't of happened. Though I'm really sad to have seen Jessica and Aaron go.

Calis! Avensby? I always wondered what happened to that guy. He must have left during my absence... But I really liked him. Was a shame to find he had left. But I didn't have much of an experience of VHS prior to the Mephiston affair, and that really gets to me. I would have liked to have had a chance to RP there during the brighter times... Not that things aren't so great right now. The sleepers are kind of worrying though. (Heartswater inhabitants should know what I mean )
