Who is the Best charrie traitor of cantr

Postby mtm21 » Mon Jul 09, 2007 7:53 am

I really think it is Felin... She did create alot of chaos along with my charrie.. as a follower.

It would be interesting to know if anyone knows of great traitors out there and what they did to betray or be a traitor.... perferably dead so it doesn't affect IG things;)

Nela of Blajlokin (Spanish).

She was one of the managers of the city, with more than 20 inhabitants. One day she call everyone for a meeting inside the main building, collected all the keys, food and resources of the city, and leave everyone locked up in the city for starving.

She failed. The lock was broke before the people die, and she was captured by the Federation navy and executed by her betrayed people.

I can't say what I think because it would reveal my identity.

I'll give two old examples, one that was just fun and one that was truly devastating to a community. My memory is so bad that I can't remember the charrie names for the second one, but someone here will.

Seth Bero was a guard (Doryi) during the days of the right glorious councilorship of Wong and Little John (my guy). Seth was brilliantly played as a highly ambitious loose cannon. He was constantly scheming and plotting Great Things of various kinds, and he made friends easily. At some point it came out that he had been laying plans to take over the town, maybe to kill off Wong, I never did get the details right. Little John and Wong seized on it as pretext to exile him, although it was never really proven that he had engaged in true treason. Seth kept contacts there... swore to come back and rule the place some day. LJ and Wong never did stop worrying about it, even though he didn't come back. Didn't have the hugest impact on the community as a whole, and I know many on the forums hate Doryiskom anyway, but I always remember Seth as one of the boldest, coolest charries I interacted with. Nod to CrashBlizz on that one. Although it did seem a little uncool when a new character of Crash's, Loki, showed up in town right after Seth left, with what seemed to be some OOC grudges...

The other instance was in Vrayllnuets Hills South, later known as Heartswater Hills, during the days of Artex the pirate. There was this woman in town (can't remember her name now) who betrayed everyone, pretended to be with them but was secretly collaborating with the pirates, who slowly but surely kidnapped, tortured, and killed most every important person in the town. They were eventually brought to justice and the traitor woman was captured and held, brought to trial, and caused bitter divisions in the community between those that advocated mercy and fairness and those who just wanted her head on a spear. She was eventually cut down on the road trying to flee. I would say that was an occasion where a traitor helped a couple others bring a town completely to its knees. The place was decades recovering from that.

Deserea Seadrake says: "I told you so!" :p

And I felt really bad when one of my other characters heard comments in game about what a bitch Deserea was for flipping out because they didn't execute that pirate woman on the spot. I love vindication.

Isn't the best traitor the one who gets away with it?

Traitors who get away with it often aren't even remembered as traitors, they're remembered as noble revolutionaries, or destroyers of tyranny, or whatever. Julius Caesar betrayed the Republic, but nobody really thinks of him as a traitor. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and crew were traitors, and if they'd lost they'd probably still be remembered that way. Traitors who win get to write their own history.

Then there are the traitors who don't get away with it, but because they failed in a good cause -- trying to undercut or topple evil governments, for example -- they are still remembered as heroes. Think of the group who tried, but failed, to assassinate Hitler.

Traitors come in all shapes and sizes. The "greatness" of a traitor, I would say, should not be limited to whether or not they get away with it.

Nakita DeDannaan was a snake who betrayed both her husband Jim DeDannaan and later Rosemary of TBR to their deaths, though they both deserved what they got. But as far as an individual manipulating many different groups for a hidden agenda benefitting noone but themselves I would give the prize to Lady Linsey of KORT, in that same region. I hope her player tells her whole story sometime, as I'm sure there's a lot of treachery still unknown. She had some hand in all sides of a complicated alliance of self-interested parties and as well as betrayed their enemies. But for her untimely death, she probably would have taken K-Isle in the end. And without ever carrying a weapon. Well done. :)

Good old Dahlia. This was the one memorable thing I did with my first account. I didn't play Dahlia, but I was deeply involved with that character and those events.

Ah! I actually remember these two betrayals (heck, I even saw Jim die, though I was unfortunately sleeping at the time). I swear, this is the first time that someone has mentioned in-game events that I've actually known about in-game :P

Poor Lyle, sometimes I wish I had never deleted his account! :?

Dahlia Moore...ah, one of my first and favorite characters. :)
And she didn't run. She walked out on the road and stood waiting for death just as she informed them she would. Phaedrus came out, tried to talk her into coming back to deal with her crimes but she refused...Too many people wanted to torture her, hurt her....make her suffer and she wasn't about to let it happen. She wouldn't be a prisoner in some cell and if she was bound to die anyway, it was going to be on her terms.

Nononono I have the best traitor!! I'll PM the person and see if they want to explain their story here.

It is seriously one of the -best- traitors during the Blackrock period... to a minority group.
