Indio no.9 wrote:Yeh but thats not what happens, so you would be talking the realism out of Cantr. And weed isnt adictive and apart from wakeing up in strange places I have never noticed any other side effects.

Oh and ofcourse you would need pipes, bongs, needles all the gear.

Drug withdrawls, been there. cramps, pain, puking, hot and cold flashes, shakes... yes, it DOES happen. dont fool yourself.

"pot" is addictive, just not physical. its a mental addiction, once you start using it, you cant deal with everyday life without that little bit of "stress relief" it gets worse and worse, until you end up smoking pot just to wake up in the morning, and smoking pot before work, and smoking pot because you cant "deal with the stress" at work, and smoking pot when you get home, and smoking pot because rent is past due and smoking pot because you lost your job.... then you are on the streets, wishing you had some pot because you need to escape the fact you are homeless.

and dont say it wont happen to you. it happens to the best of people. it is a scientifically proven fact that pot is addictive.

Anything can be mentally additive. *coughCantrcough*

"pot" is not chemically addictive like poppy extract, caffine (most headache medices and soda), nicotine and chocolate (I forget the chemical in chocolate)

a mental adictivity depends on the person, that can hardly be incorporated in cantr.

Depends on your point of view. Some people belive that some people are predisposed to additive behavior and that the object of their addition is realted to how much enjoyment is rendered and the scarcity of the object.

But that would get into having characters marked as predisposed to addiction which would take away from role-playing.

We already know that the majority of the players are predisposed to addiction. It is the Cantr addiction that keeps us straight.

But then again if the player could choose to be addicted to something and the game enfoced it they would have to get a benifit somehow. Sort of like GURPS.

Nah tis not worth the bother, the organised crime thing is a good idea though I think, but there needs to be a medium for the criminals, theiverys just to petty.

you could get improved experiences when you use drugs, like hear someones whispers or having allucinations (telling you how to produce leather, what is a makisu for, the name of the latest place attacked by lad or the best route to get to the legendary town with titanium or put you in contact with god ..-jos-).
the day after you would be drowsy, though, and work only 25% of a normal day

there is a variation of THC in chocholate. the only prob his that you would have to eat 3 or 4 kilos of the darkest chocholate to get the amount of THC of a spliff

Indio no.9 wrote:...YES and after the introduction of tobaco, you should make skunk plants on the foriegn islands and that would start a whole drug import business. Then we could maybe get major vilain characters, organised crime. It would introduce a whole new excitement to the game. And ofcourse you cant stop at weed, you need opium plants and all sorts of other stuff.

..ok i got carried away, sorry.

Bringing on the question of:

'If drugs ARE implemented, will they be made illegal?'

well that should be up to the governments in Cantr.

As for my caffiene adiction I got over it but at the time I remember drinking about 10 cans of coke a day and cofee whenever I could get some. Ive never been adicted to anything else though.
