Another thing that is probably keeping people away is the huge amount of free games that are playable out on the net.

I'm gearing up to write this thing, but could someone give me a link to the post on the history of cantr? I mean the whole progression, from lego-men to cantr two. I think it may have been a webzine article, but I can't remember. As soon as I have thought, I'll get started on the writing.

Anyways, since one person missed my point, theres going to be others so Ill explain.

When you do a search for free games, there are tons upon tons of games that come up.

That´s why marketing exists.

Or in Cantr, the lack of it. Sure, the staff doesnt have the budget of the major game companies, but they dont need it. I have proposed some strategies to some staff members and am still waiting word on the marketing app I put in, but none of that will mean anything if people wont word for this to happen.

Here's a couple of links I came across looking for the date of the beginning for someone else.

Well... I know it's been said before... but I'd still love a little green smiley shirt with "a man/woman in his/her (decade)s" printed under it, and of course, the website on the back. Like that people realize that they can talk to no one in particular in your vicinity and you'll respond in suit. :D

Come to think of it... that exact quote printed on it may be even more amuseing then any of the correct possibilities.

That would just get people going to Cantr is search of porn. Not sure we want to attract that crowd, although we would attract a crowd.

That seems to describe a fair chunk of the crowd we have been attracting anyway, Doug. Might as well keep going with what works, eh? :)

Well.. of course. But why recruit them if they aren't going to stay because we don't have porn? :P

But maybe if enough join and they all have characters near each other to start their own little "porn society" then they would stay

hmmm...I can just see it now:

"You see a man in his twenties smack a woman in her twenties with a fleshy long-sword"

Ill let you use your imagination for that one
