Eh...

I think more than one revolution is in or around the area we're plotting at. Anyway,

did we have a place with cultural music, maybe art, traditions, yada yada with political secrets, standing army, navy, secret agent force, people/business records recording every moment of your life? Also, try ethnicity becoming important, and border blocking, meaning immigration ain't gonna be easy. :P

Thats what we've thought that we might put in so far... :P Top that.

No, because everything is not possible in Cantr. Border blocking needs few chars which are always online and ready to kill everyone ,who doesn´t know the password, in a second.
Secret agents are possible and maybe there is some of them. You can´t never know...
Art exists.
Music exicts (only words, of course)
Navy? Maybe if war machines will be implemented (but not now). But there can be ships with soldiers.
Army. There is town guards, knights etc...
People records... Hmmm...
Ethnicity is important (I just don´t know where).
Traditions. Laws are some kind of traditions. But if you mean things like... killing one person every year to keep the gods happy. No thanks (if I am not choosing the one)

Everything shortly:

There can be a place like this someday (but not border blocking)

There's at least one Navy in the Cantr world.

By border blocking I mean an immigration system. Records will be made. An ID given... By tradition I mean rituals (not killing) and rites and whatever. And I'm talking about everything in one place... 8)

Many towns have laws requiring visitors to introduce themselves, and at least one requires you to fill out a visa request/work permit. How much of this is enforced varies, but as stated, such enforcement requires a lot of alert chars, a rare thing indeed.

I know one place where more than half from the people are active at least once a day. Now number of alert chars is decreasing.
However there is not that much bureaucracy... :?

ID given

Sheriff Redfern tried to start ID's in Siom. They were really fancy. Showed your criminal history, your rank/job title etc. Unfortunately they were a wastse of time. I have better things to be doing than writing up a bunch of pretty pieces of paper for new people that want to be citizens, just so they can die in 10-20 cantr years leaving the paper useless. I have a memory to remember criminals.

As for immigration blocking-- Yes it is possible. It's like someone said, it takes for guards to watch who leaves the paths or enters the towns. They used to do it in Lad and I lost a lot of characters just trying to go down one single friggen road there because it was forbidden unless express permission was given.

I almost lost one going down that road! On my first account... they were active.

I have seen all of those way back in the first six months after I joined. Both the Lad Empire and Seatown Forests had very complex systems of citizen records and likewise controlled immigration. The MacGregors invented a distinct "ethnicity". I have myself developed regions with particular "cultures" not found elsewhere (not so, comrade?), employed spies and agents, and formed at least one standing army. I even tried to start some "hostilities" recently, but my folk either panicked or ran away or else simply dropped dead.

Alas the players who created that great strategic impetus of bygone fame have long since left the game. These past days, Dietrich has been standing all alone in the outpost watching over the body of his hero, Duke Adf, first Duke of Adfia. Recently, Dietrich sallied forth offering to others bikes of their own, locks for their buildings and any amount of iron and steel...requiring in return only loyalty to his cause. Alas, those few he found were either asleep or uninterested, or else it was simply too much of a chore for them to move or even to speak much (lag). So there he stood, watching over the body of a bygone hero when suddenly...poof...it disappeared.*

And thereupon the last thread linking that greater past was broken. The town, once buzzing with acivity, now stands deserted.

(* accompanied, I might add, by the most inane message I've ever seen in Cantr).

Let me guess, "the dead body here has been damaged beyond repair"? I wasn't around when Silas's corpse disintegrated so I never stopped to think there would be an event.

Yeah.

That body was all I had left of Nick's character Adf. And all that was left of my own charrie's memories and hopes.

Well I recieved one of those ID's for one of my characters that lived in Siom last time I played Cantr. They were real nice, and the best ID cards I have seen in Cantr. Even though they might not have been worth your time, my character still enjoyed having one, so thanks.
