Already thinkin' 'bout the next one
Hopefully, you've all devoured (in a good way) Issue Nine, and are salivating in anticipation for Issue Ten. I know I am!
As ever, we're looking for input. If you have something to contribute, don't hesitate to get in touch. Even if you want to do 'something', but don't quite know what, or if you have a great idea but don't want to do it yourself. Just let us know, and we can figure out how best we can use you (in a good way).
We're especially looking for input for the planned Advertising Special. We couldn't include it last issue because there weren't enough submissions, but we only need about 10 ads to make a decent-sized feature, so please think about sending us something.
Let's make number Ten an issue to be proud of!

I just got this message from nitefyre:
I'm really sorry, everyone who worked on the previous issues.. I hope you know I had no intention of offending you, or of saying your efforts were all in vain...
I'm very, terribly sorry.
When you said this about the Zine, "Hahaha, nice! First issue I've actually liked! Great job, guys," I just hope you realized you offended everyone who worked on the previous 8 Issues, which got the Zine to where it is.

On the other hand, there are readers who do seem to sense some value in those previous issues. Readers like me, as I do seem to value my own old periodicals. I like to wait along the lines of half-a-year a two before reading the Cantr 'zines, because that's how you could forget how funny those Cantr Comics were. And when you read them again, the laughs will resemble a satisfying deja vu.
Sometimes it's pleasing for me to remember how Cantr (both the game world and the game itself) marks its own history, and I guess that's what would motivate me to read the 'zines.
Yeah, this is a little insight for one who doesn't let those middle-aged text go to waste.

Nitefyre, firstly, you did quit after all. Secondly, do you honestly think Dee is the kind of malicious person to purposely say such a thing?
Seriously? Maybe you're just in a bad mood because I'm sure you've known her longer than I have, yet even I know she wouldn't and DIDN'T mean it that way.
Maybe you're just ego-vacuuming, now that you lost all the old praise. You were praised for your work on it, so was everyone else, so don't go looking for it now.
Also, please don't speak for the others who worked on the zine, saying that they're offended by Dee's comments.
They know Dee.
They're definitely not.
Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

As she can attest to, our Private Messages were mostly congenial and that was the most bluntest excerpt there as to suggest how a few individuals have interpreted that comment and made clear to me (with some irritation after working their asses off on that and related projects with less praise than myself). The quote itself is taken somewhat out of context. I was making clear to her she is definitely entitled to her opinion, but that the way it was phrased was taken offensively--which was not her intention. Ironically, the way I mishapped and that it could be excerpted so bluntly and malignly makes the same principle apply to me.
On the other hand, I mark the quick-call-to-arms against me with some chagrin and an easy realization that things have changed drastically. Oh, no, wait, Cantrians were always quick to judge and hang and ask questions later. (I do appreciate your middle ground, Leo. I also agree with RKL's sentiment, however, it should be constructive criticism.)
As a side note though, I have already helped prepare (with an outlined program on how to use e107), contributed, and commended Issue 9's work previously, publicly and privately, for after all I was a part of its making (although less than usual in this case) and would not offend it
. I need not your applause though.
Now, enough. This wasn't to be made public in the first place.

Well nitefyre, we thank you for all your work and we did when you announced your retirement. Indeed, posts can be taken out of context at any time, but I write too quick due to my limited free time to care about precision.
*hugs nitefyre too*
