Is it true..?

When you kill someone on the road, their items vanish into the void?

Or do they appear in the town they're closest to..
Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

They roll back downhill to where they started.

Where did you get that rumor from?

Almost. They end up in the town behind the person who just died (if they turned around, it may not be the town they left from). Generally speaking, if someone is running from a town and you kill them, the stuff will end up back in that town. If they turned around before you killed them, then the stuff ends up in the town that they were running to.

That's right. I've known the pursuer returning to town, to find the stuff has been stolen by someone else before he got back.

No, I think it was said that all roads have a direction, so things fall downhill. Well at least turning around doesn't matter.

Talapus is correct. Roads do have a default direction but that's not used in this case - The contents of a dead traveller's inventory always fall on the ground in the town behind them .

The default road direction is only taken into account when someone stops on a road (i.e. speed = 0)

Its well known that all roads in Cantr are up-hill, regardless of which way you're walking along them...
