Repair times unrealistic?

Postby sammigurl61190 » Mon May 21, 2007 12:16 am

I just noticed, repair times for some things are extremely unrealistic. An often-used bone needle, no longer than someone's finger, should not take 13 hours to repair. Hell, a crumbling bone needle should only take 4 or 5 hours, tops, since it's so small.

Anyone else agree with me on this?

personally, i just let bone material wear to nothingness.

And please, repair is a mere annoyance compared to what it used to be, theres really no need to change it anymore. if decay was still primarily based on age then yes, id say shorten repair time.

but no, i think its fine.

I'm actually wondering how you can repair a bone needle at all. Or how it degrades in the first place.

Anyway, size doesn't always matter. Especially the small, fiddly things are often the hardest to repair.

I remember what decay used to be, trust me, and I agree with you that it's a mere annoyance now. And it isn't even about it being bone, it's about that the time is unreasonable. That's all.

I guess characters awkard in tool making are slower repairing tools. They better hire someone else to do that.

This particular character is an expert at tool making. Still, 13 hours.

Well... honetly, how would you go about repairing a splintering bone needle? Bone intentionally takes too long to repair, as it's not really ment to be on par with iron.

Bone needles (and other bone tools) are that way to encourage throwing them away and making a new one when the old one wears out. Anyone in a location where bones are abundant should do that. But the repair option is there because we have these poor people who don't have enough animals and if their needle broke then they might not get a new one. So they can fix the old one with very much difficulty.
