There are several types of masts and sails, suitable each one for different ships, and giving different boosts to the speed.
As soon as one of my chars get some cotton sailcloth (what is 7 or 8 times more expensive than hemp sailcloth, but cantr-life is hard ), I will use them! I love this improvement!

Good addition, I found it in the wiki just now
Seems a bit harsh that sailcloth is so much quicker to make with hemp cloth than cotton/silk cloth, yet works just as well, but hey, the only character I have likely to build a boat lives near hemp anyway...

Best set sail in search of logs then...
Or rather, set 'no-sail' for the time being, and find logs, and then add the sails after. Got to be some out there somewhere... *sings sea shanty about logs*

Well, they're bound to pop up now. I know one of my chars is planning to.
