The elephants should only be on one island. And that should be the unpopulated island where my explorer landed on but was killed. I know because I placed them there. Unless TJ placed elephants elsewhere then there shouldn't be elephants anywhere else.

Anyways, I think Lad. would take them out but there isn't anyone important in Lad. right now.

::turns of mointor and turns::

Unless some bug moved them off the island. Mwah...

just kidding...

I think it was a matter of your character placement and age why you didn't feel the danger.

All the really tough animals were probally killed while they were dormant on the older and highly populated English islands.

I sure the resource dept will keep things interesting in zero populated areas on the older English islands.

Aha! So I am on new land! My one character just came across 2 elephants on the road he was travelling. This is kind of cool because by chnce this is the one character that I've turned into a mapping & journal taking freak - I'd suspected we were in a new area because I haven't seen anyone, anywhere except for the crew I travelled with - and I've long lost all of them...

It's fun knowing that that char may be the first to walk these lands - and visually map them! (Speaking of which - if I make a visual map how do I get that included in my char's inventory? / share it with people I meet?)

My best bet is "save picture" into foto shop. Bring together all those images into one, coherent map, and then save it as a jpeg, for the PD to upload.

Yeah - I've been building the maps in Photoshop for now -- heck even have the paths mapped out! :)

Cool - when it gets to a point that It's ready I'll talk to the PD... ("P" = Players or programming?)

Programming.

And a reminder to others.

These are maps based on the info of single characters only.
Any graphics used in a note must be sent in to programming.
It's not just for maps. And graphics you want to add to a note is fine.

Is it just me or are the animals too mellow now?
Probally a good break for areas having a hard time but in time they may be too mellow.

It's a damn good thing if you ask me -- I had a character just arrive in Kirrin Soufields. Without a word of a lie probably about 100 animals movements have happened since he got there and there's at least 6 packs of different animals there... insane.

Problem is, who will ever read your map?

If he hurries he can claim the largest domain under one goverment if the island/content is big enough.

Don't answer on how big it is unless you get bigger than a dozen locations.

Not if the animals get to him first.

Thankfully he came across the likes of elephants etc. AFTER the animals got tweaked to be less aggressive - he did have a close call a little while ago with some hawks - totally unprovoked attack the minute I walked in.

Another person was there farming (from the boat I came over on) but they were near death and I had no healing food so I just kept shuffling on.

I can't wait for next turn flip - he's about to get to yet another location.

The only thing that sucks is I know there's at least one other person out and about here somewhere - but she went a different direction from where we landed - of course, my char hopes he finds the iron first :)

Will these new areas eventually be spawn points? Or is there some land in the game that will always just be somewhere you need to find?

Well there aren't spawn points anymore. Where ever there are people, it is possible to spawn, but the probablility is proportional to the population. There's a chance that once you settle somewhere, someone will just appear. But a low chance. It'll be slow to start up unless more people come in boats.

You're a sick sick man Malcolm... man you must of had fun sticking the animals on this continent... I'm gonna go ahead and guess you modelled this one after Africa.

My character arrives in a new location and awakes to find 20+ elephants, 20+ lions, a handful of wolves, 20+ hawks and a bunch of assorted other creatures (7-10 varieties).

He didn't hang around long. Onto the next destination... thank god he has a shield. (albeit a wooden one).
