would a crossdresser still get the kicks out of it anymore if it was totally acceptable? If there were no separate gender roles then you couldn't adopt the style of the opposite gender.

Definition of perversion: Something you yourself couldn't imagine doing. Well in modern society it's cool to be kinky, then you imagine what the majority of your neighbours wouldn't do and if you would then you are kinky. But perversion is a bad word.

Sometimes it feels like people do stuff just to make others (especially older people and fundamentalist people) appalled. Or maybe that's not the right word. But transvestites in pictures are often underlining the feats of the opposite sex. Overdoing the makeup, dressing up like some vintage whores when most real women have a more down to earth look.

Cross-dressers are merely people who wear the clothes of the other gender (transvestite is usually the term used for someone who gets kicks out of it). A woman wearing a mens T-shirt is a cross-dresser, and women wearing pants could easily be considered cross-dressers.

Most men have a really hard time pulling off the "natural woman" look. :D
If a guy wants to look more womanly, it is often easiest to hide their masculine features under paint or makeup.

"Bit of a crowbar separation there," as Eddie Izzard would say.

I do indulge in the occasional bit of cross-dressing, I admit. But I'm neither a transvestite or a drag queen.

Transvestites are usually straight men who derive some sort of pleasure or satisfaction from dressing like women. Drag queens are usually gay men, often (but not always) ones who go to extraordinary lengths to appear female; some may be transsexual or transgender, to the point of having breast implants or (in relatively rare cases) sex changes.

Me? I'm a crossdresser. I'm a straightish dude who occasionally (a few times a year) dresses in women's clothing for parties or whatever. Do I look like a woman? Hardly. Do I try? Not really. I just do it because it's fun and people (including me) get a kick out of it. Plus, skirts are incredibly comfortable and I like challenging peoples' normative ideas. Also I look damn good in a corset. But I hang out with a lot of LGBTQ folks so maybe I'm an odd case.

Anyway, uh, back to your previously-scheduled thread.

Anyway, nowadays, it's more correctly, for inclusivity, termed as LGBTTQAPA.

Ok, looks like this thread ought to be split. Looks like people keep having more comments so it shouldn't die from that.

This online sex shop sells some men's skirts among other things, this specific model it has some straps and buckles and it's made of a sturdy fabric and it has an A-line cut (women's skirts tend to take hips into account so they're curved to fit, while men have a less notable difference between waist and pelvis).

So not like men couldn't wear skirts, or other things traditionally regarded as feminine.

I've worn a skirt, like four times, mostly at the request of a girl. I've also crossdressed multiple times for such things as the Rocky Horror Show, halloween, conventions. It's not really my thing, but I have been told I suit a skirt. Oh and been part scotch, I wear a kilt at least once a week. (Been the only kilt wearing guy in a nightclub/bar does lead to alot of attention though...) Also, I very much like that man-skirt seko posted... but not on me. ;)

Sexy is in the eyes of the beholder. And in my eyes that guy is hot. And the skirt fits him perfectly. Granted, it's a bit long, might be hard to walk without stumbling but it's more intented for posing than practicality.
