Mel Gibson's "vision"
I will probably see "Passion", only to confirm the religion-baiting stuff that is most likely throughout the film... what a farce.

Saw it at advance screening on Monday. I thought it was a great movie that had a lot of meaning in it. I can see where people who aren't Christian or are but don't know much about their religion don't understand it.
I think the central point is missed in the "Passion of the Christ". The central point is even after all that has been done to him in the end right before dying he forgives them for they did.
Believe when I say, this is the bloodiest, goriest movie you'll ever see. I never thought that a movie would ever top "Evil Dead" but this did it.
I would recommend you see this with an open mind. I don't see the anti-semitism in it other than the fact there were Jews who wanted Christ captured and killed because they thought he was creating a new religion and was using other Jewish people for his agenda. The fact is was that he was only preaching the same writings and God that they worshipped.
But do notice that the torture and execution was carried out by the Romans and not the Jews who feared that Christ was trying to create a kingdom to defy the Roman Empire.
I would also point out that Jesus Christ was Jewish so to hate Jews is to hate him as well.

I dont see the controvesy over this film, if you're a Christian then go see it, if you aren't then ignore it, the only way in which you will care about what the movie is about is if you are a Christian anyway, as for the whole anti-semitism thing, you could just as easily argue that the new testament of the bible is anti-smitic

...errr that was a bit ambigious. I meant by moneychanging the profiting by the movie and marketing all over the religious channels and various other things... um a Jewler is making "Jesus nails" for instance... that were officially sanctioned... erm... the docu-dramas produced by Gibson with the guy who played Jesus talking about how he "wasn't in control of his body when acting, it was as if he didn't speak himself" blah blah... marketing shamelessly and peddling religion. And the neo-idolatry is presenting it that way and in the movies as a truly religious experience... instaed of idols of the traditional sense, it is a multimedia idolatry.

Well, either way, it was a great movie.
And the guy who played Jesus is Jim Caviezel. He is a great actor. I love him in "The Count of Monte Cristo" (2002 Version) and he is also in "Frequency" with Dennis Quaid as well as "Angel Eyes" with Jennifer Lopez (movie sucked but he was great in it anyhow). He has also played many minor roles or supporting roles in a lot of other movies. I think ten years down the road he will be considered one of the better actors of our time.

I love and believe in whatever power created us. Because something had to of. I'm just not sure who or what that power is, I don't really question it, or seek the answer, because none of us are really going to know the truth until we die and finally find out.
I think people should just take this movie with a grain of salt. Since it wasn't written by Jesus, they should just look at it as a form of entertainment. I say this because I can't believe the hoopla surrounding this movie. It's silly.

i think the main thing people should get out of this movie is exactly the same thing people should get out of movies like moses and samson or whatevere they are called and that is they are great movie's made from the best selling book in history and not read anything more into them then the fact that hollywood has found something else to make a movie about and make money out of. to many people this will be a great movie to other's this'll be a load of rubbish but lok at movies like clockwork ornage and apocalypse now aswell some loved em some hated em .it's a movie and doesn't diserve all the hype and religion talk going on about it
