I have a strong feeling that this has been suggested somewhere, but since I couldn't find the topic... just shoot me if someone else finds it.

Currently you can hit every 8 Cantr hours, but since no one can be arsed to sit around with a timer to see when it comes available again, you end up hitting later and later each day and eventually it slips to a moment past your bedtime and then you need to skip to the next morning and the cycle begins anew.

What I propose is shortening the limit to 6 or 7 Cantr hours, then you can hit a bit earlier each day. Sometimes you might manage to hit twice a day if you wake up early and go to bed late but that would be more of an exeption than a rule, since there's still 18 (or 21) real life hours in the middle. All it would offer is a bit more flexibility.

Or at least, to allow attacking in the same (or later) turn that the day before, just ignoring the cantr minutes.

I mean:


1856-1.20: attack.

1857-1.10: attack again

1858-0.35: attack not allowed...

1858-1.01: attack allowed.

1859-2.01: attack.

1860-1.35: attack not allowed...

1860-2.01: attack allowed.


It would be simply to implement, but it allows munchkins to attack 8 times per week.... :roll:

I think you'll find it is discussed elsewhere, and that the time is not 8 hours+, but within athe same Cantr hour. I don't know where I've seen it but from memory, if you attack before the 12th minute of an hour, the next attack can be any time within those 12 minutes... but shoot me, too, if I'm wrong.

It just resets on the certain minute instead of straight from the beginning of the hour. But it doesn't matter, it still tends to slide later and later in the evening. It cannot go earlier than the limit. A seven hour cycle would make battle training easier.

Hm... I have a question. When I fight with a waster, I can hit EVERYBODY once. But if I fight with a weapon on the other hand, I can only hit a person once. Is the ability exclusive to the waster? Or not, if not, then I am against this. If so, then I am with it.

You can hit everyone with any weapon, but only once a day. Rules for every weapon are the same. You're mistaken.

I'm pretty sure this is correct, I distinctly remember Chris mentioning it at some point. I.E. only the hour is taken into account for calculating the hours passed, not the minutes.

Perhaps your not as tired after each hit and so you can attack more people at once.
Although if you've got a waster than can hit EVERYBODY, that's a bloody big waster. :wink:

Ooh ooh I agree!

Who can't! Most people have a character where there are a crap load of animals, right? You need to attack as often as possible to wipe them out and save yourself.. and what ends up happening, is you attack at, say, 6:00pm monday.. then the next day, 6:05pm tuesday, then 8:30pm wednesday - meaning it is pushed back further and further. With this suggestion, you have a chance of reversing that!

To test this a few days ago my char attacked another just after the travel tick one day and was able to do it again just before that tick the next day, thus proving that it's not always 8hours +.

From what I know, most of you are wrong. This is just from what I know, but if you attack someone at lets says 1858-1.01 you will NOT be able to attack at 1859-1.02 but must wait until 1859-1.12 but if you attack at 1858-1.13 you can attack at 1858-1.14 and so on, up until you reach 1858-1.35, after that minute passes, you won't be able to attack until 12 cantr minutes after the next hour. So anyways, thats how I understand it but there is also this that I don't get, its for hunting but it should work the same for fighting...anyways...

I would like that too, as I'm only able to hunt 3-5 consecutive days before loosing track and it ending up past my bedtime.

Frits, if you can find the original topic and post a link to it then I can lock this one.

Lately been having a duel and it has been a total pain in the ass, Cantr fighting system just totally takes all the fun out of it. Having a 7 hour cycle would at least make it manageable although it would still remain irrealistic.
