British players will know a Two Ronnies sketch: a quiz show where the contestant elects to answer the question before last.
This is often the case in Cantr.

Biaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaach I blame the lag... seriously. It's not fun when a private event comes up through a wrong character in a wrong town. Well, not private private but something you didn't wish for the public to see. Stupid Cantr...

maybe it's due to the odd times I log in, or the fact I always have more than one window open, but I don't find the lag a terrible problem at the moment.

It's there, but it's been worse.

Or actually, what I did was use the browser back button to check the bit of text I was replying to, then forward back to the other character I was currently viewing, used the game back button to return to the character list and selected the character I was supposed to act through. It's just so annoying when you have to wait for several minutes for page to load and you're thinking "I WON'T close this window, I refuse to give up, I will wait until it gets through" -- and then when it loads, you notice it had jumped to a wrong character. >.>

I was going to let that comment pass.

But I won't

Since when does cross-dressing make someone a 'perv'?

whether something is perverted or not is a question of culture, I think, because the idea of perversion, in a sexual sense, relies on a sense of what is morally or sexual correct behaviour.

Such correct behaviour is defined by the values and norms of a culture, for example polygyny (where a man takes many wives) is acceptable in many areas of North Africa (according to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygamy#P ... _worldwide ) whereas it is not as acceptable here.

Similarly, in the past in Western cultures cross dressing has been considered a perversion as it broke many social taboos and expectations of behaviour, cross dressing is becoming more acceptable as society becomes more liberal, but changing the underlying ideology and the subsequent values and norms of a culture is a slow process and many people will still adhere to the old standards (particularly older people who have lived with them all their lives).

I suppose the succinct answer to your question, hf, is "when society tells you so" as it's mainly a matter of perception and being judged according to the values of the group to which you belong.

The last thing I need is a mini-lecture on cultural differentiation and its relation to predjudice and common moralities, but I'm sure you know that ;P

I think the, more correct, answer is 'when a person decides to follow the social norms of the culture within which they live'.
I, persoanlly, like to exert my right to challenge what I percieve to be unwarranted predjudices engrained into western society/ies and cultures, whether exhibited by individuals, groups or institutions of said society/ies.

Also, one actual dictionary definition of perversion isv something along the lines of differing from the norm if i remember correctly.

And I am going to take the Imus stance and appologize if my comment offended anyone, it was supposed to be a humorous jest.
