Carving

Postby Spectrus_Wolfus » Tue Feb 24, 2004 2:58 am

now that we have description's and clothes how abut we put in project's where we can buetify(sp?) our sheild's. back through out history different area's had specific things displayed on there sheilds wether it be icon's.lords coat of arm's or nation colour's.well how about letting us carve the images of animal's oto our sheilds? only let it be animal's we have seen and make it so you need a knife for a wooden sheild and a chisel for the stronger ones. and have it in the description like "he also carries a sheild with the design of a wolf on it" or something similiar. and add something into the item description like wooden sheild-wolf

i dunno just thinking out loud

Further descriptions of people would be nice too...

"He looks heavily laden with goods" - for people who are heavy with inventory.

etc.

What would be great too is if we could indicate a mood for out characters.

it would also be good if you could see what weapons a person has, like IRL you would notice if someone has a sabre or shield lolz.

It would be nice if you could carve something in the shields.

with being able to see weapons i think if that came in clothes should be able to hide some like if you have a full length cape you could cover all but the largest of weapons to some degree.and why is clothes have to be equiped for lack of a better word but weapons and sheilds in our pocket's work fine ? shouldn't we have to equip them aswell ? well atleast sheilds

Yeah, it should be like clothing, where you have to equip it for it to work, instead of just being able to attack someone with a sabre in your inventory, make it so you have to put it on like the clothes for it to be useful. I like the description thing to something like

749-7 - you see a man in his thirties bearing a heavy load on his back arrive at ****. Something like that would be interestin anyway.

Yeah, I don't know how easy it would be to implement but I also think shields should work like clothing. When you just carry it in your inventory it does nothing, but when you wear it, it protects you and it shows up in your character description. How could your shield be concealed when you have it ready for surprise attacks? Anyway, the programming for this would also make it easy to implement armour, which would really just be new shield types.
DOOM!
