There's lots that can be added to animal funtionality.
I agree with the vicousness of the animals needing to be toned down a bit as I keep joking about it.

Animals as a problem: Certain type of animals would eat food on the ground

Only when animals can eat can visible eat they be domesticated.

But even before domestication a drag function is needed so instead of killing them all at least we could lock them up in a building. {And use this as a means of execution}

I saw that animals went onto the road. They should shomehow feel more comfoatable staying there. There's less people and the assumption could be made that they can forage while on the road maybe. This would bring hunting into play.

Where would the meat fall if you hunt whilst on the road? Currently does it end up at the nearest end, or in your inventory?

How do you mean by "come out sometimes"? Do you mean having animals hide for periods of time? That would be an interesting funtion for people, a project where you try to conceal yourself and not be seen by other people in the area; perfect for ambushing.

I definately think the viciousness of the animals should be toned down. Unless we can attack every time they attack, it can be almost impossible. The snakes! I hate them!

taming animals

oh yes, it would be so awsome if we could domesticate animals, all of them, like stated previously, some would simply be harder than others, it would provide us with more character individuality too. like say...jon doe and his faithful wolf etc...i also liked the idea of talking parrots. also, to domesticate, maybe you should have to catch it first, then pet and feed it untill it trusts you, and so on and so forth :P [/img]

Yes, perhaps they should probably be toned down some. But I really like that it gives people a motivation to build shields. Characters really need to prepare better for the dangers of their lives. Dangers, like wild boars, raccoons, and Purple Tortoise's. :)

Right now there's no time of day on Cantr defined as "day" or "night", and doing that would complicate things for people in different timezones. I'm not sure if it will be done or not, but I personally would lean against it.

but could something similar to sleeping be done? Perhaps some animals sleep around the beginning of the cantr day, and others in the middle?

If characters need to rest to relieve fatigue, then perhaps, when implemented, the same mechanic could be used for animals?

I definitly don't think a group of 34 rabbits should be running around together killing people. Not only have I never seen more then 3 rabbits traveling together I never seen one jump out and kill a hiker.

Then maybe some animals wouldn't fight back at all. They'd just run away after being struck. If you catch them, you win. If they get away, they win.

That way, if there were a bunch a rabbits, they wouldn't be a threat.

So perhaps all animals of one type shouldn't be in a single group? There could be 3 rabbits, 5 rabbits, and a lone rabbit. And attcking the lone rabbit would not affect the other groups.
