Collaborative short-story challenge!
Okay, I don't know how well this will work out, but here goes.
The basic idea is this:
I've put together a very basic, very vague plotline. It's a mystery story, more or less, with 12 main sections. We'll have 12 writers, each doing one section, one after the other. Each writer will only get brief and general guidance as to how the story should develop. Everything else, all other details, are up to the author to flesh out. They'll have the previous sections to refer to, though. And we'll see what kind of story we end up with.
First step is to get our writers. Then I'll assign a section to each one, and PM the section guidelines to them. The best and most confident writer will do section 12: The Ending! The sections will be posted here as they are completed.
Sections can be any length within reason; long enough to be complete and entertaining, but not too long that it gets boring or 'takes over'. The writers must not discuss their section with anyone else until it is posted here, but they may PM me privately with any questions.
This thread will be 'open' until the writers are chosen, but please don't post after then, so that the thread remains for story sections only!.
So... who wants to be a writer?
Also, any questions?

Then you're probably not a very good candidate Pie.. It's very unfair for you to put someone else into a position of deciding whether it's fair for other writers if they select you. That's what you've done...

I'm going to accept Pie as a writer, on condition that he does a good job and spells well! Surprise us all!
Racetyme: "Sections can be any length within reason; long enough to be complete and entertaining, but not too long that it gets boring or 'takes over'." A few hours should be plenty, as long as it's done well!
Leo Luncid: I will decide who does The Ending, based on nominations and feedback here.
N-Aldwitch: Huh? But also: Are you in?

Nakranoth, if you want in, I can put you near the end, same as Racetyme.
So that's maybe 7! Are there any other possible writers we could invite? Also, don't forget to nominate a writer for The Ending. (By PM if you prefer.)
(By the way, it may look kind of boring right now, but when things get going it should be good! )
