I really think Cantr shouldn't encourage more sexual activity than already is...

*waits for the day the parents of somebody like pie sue Cantr*

You know we have no privacy policy, terms of service agreement, or heck; we even request personal info from people like Pie who are under 14. Which is illegal in the states, where this game is hosted.

Am I the only one who thinks of liability?

Registering a relationship that might lead in to the female party getting pregnant is hardly explicit. It doesn't even involve the word sex! You don't have to define when you copulate with the other party, the game just assumes that it happens on a regular basis while both parties have the bond. There is no event of sex, the bond is not visible to outsiders unless the people wish to rp it, the only sign of the existance of such would be pregnancy.

We could make it so that attempting to establish a relationship with a person does not generate an event even to the target, but the proposer would have to inform the other party by means of rp in what ever way they see fit. This way no one could be bombarded with requests of bonding. It could be like dragging, only when you choose to participate then you would know if a "project" exists.

Example:
The character page
There are buttons for all sorts of activities. We could have a text link under them for "Establish a relationship with this person" "(Warning: She/You may get pregnant)". The mention of pregnancy would tell people what kind of a relationship it's about, so we wouldn't need to mention the word sex.

When the player clicks on the link, the line would change to saying:
"You have a relationship pending with this person [cancel]"
or if the other party also has a similar bond to you:
"You are in a relationship with this person [cancel]"

It would be possible to be in a relationship with several people at a time. Also your own character page would say
"You are in a relationship with Mary [cancel], Jane [cancel] and you have a relationship pending with Beth [cancel], Lisa (elsewhere) [cancel]". Replace names with "no one" where needed. Relationships would automatically switch to pending when the target is elsewhere but if the other party is still engaged to you upon returning, it would go back to active.

...

You have got to be the only person in Cantr who has been around a long time, I like personally, yet I disagree with, in regards to pretty much every thing you suggest. :)

This is a horribly complicated suggestion that will make Cantr suck, plainly put.
Although I'm thinking this suggestion will not make it past the voices of reason.
Do not succumb to creeping featuratism! This one would be a doozy!

I agree with Seko. Phrasing it like "Engaged in a relationship with ..." is hardly explicit and would not be a liability. It would make it a bit more like a dating sim, though....if such a thing is possible, considering the current state of Cantr romance. ;)

The big trouble is that it will complicate the spawning algorithm, which was the biggest thing going for Nick's recent suggestion.
