Tree house.

Postby Pie » Sat Jan 27, 2007 5:05 pm

I did a search, but then again my searches suck...

Alright, heres the idea. A tree house. It can only be built in a forest area, so change the build requirenment to Islocation forest, if that is available. if it isn't, them progd can do it.

A tree house should require about, say 7000g of wood, maby 5000. becaus it's in a tree, it can use some of the branches for walls and things. It also should come with a "lock". exept it would read as "you cant enter this treehouse as the ladder is raised" or something, and when we program animals going into and out of buildings, they cant go in a treehouse.

This is a good way for smaller comunities to have a lockable building, so that they can have a bit of safety.

and if someone wants to break ingo it, i don't think they would need a crowbar, but it would still be harder than going into a building without a lock, and it gives the people in the treehouse time to retaliate.

Why dont you just name the a shack or cottage something that would resemble a treehouse, one of my chars did that and got the whole town to do it.

becaus this has a hard coded benifiet (animals cant get in, and you can lock it imidiatly after building it.)

and it would be cool if you could see outside wile youre inside the building.

Pie, one word: Balance.

Haveing an impregnable fortress for just a bit of wood, in a place full of wood is horrifically imbalanced.

*edit* Sorry, misunderstood.

So no tool to break in - easier than a traditional locked building. Hardly impregnable.

A treehouse? Surely you could use an axe to 'pick' the tree trunk.

To be honest this suggestion is more novelty then anything else.

-*shrieks*- Someone's gathering wood from the tree that my house is in. No! Stop it! The tree will fall down and ruin my house!

youre point?

What I have grown to know about the nature of people when they play games, is that they won't accept things, or it makes it harder for them to do so, if they cant visualise it.

Such as a farm. If the carracter cant see the location, or a map, then that person wouldn't use that farm to it's fullest rollplaying extent. Or a window. If one of those were implumented, and you couldn't see the location, then nobody would use it to its full rollplaying extent.

In other words, rollplaying feeds off of ability to invision you're surroundings.

And that is why I support all things that are meer novialties. becaus it helps people invision things.

and it's cool.

I like Pie's idea.I don't understand about treehouses but I know they're cool.
And about this balance:the treehouses can be diferent by model, type and bases.
