Ambigous back icon.
Lets split the meaning of the back icon, it's now ambigous, depending on if you're at the top page or at a sub page.
I suggest two buttons. If at the top page make a new button (little guy or whatever), taking you back to the 'CHARACTERS LIST'. The current icon should only represent going back to the top page of that specific char.

It isn't really that ambigious. The character page is the first page, everything else is forward of it. So when I am at a subpage I go back to the character page, then back to the character list.
Eg:
Back<Forward>Char--->Various sub pages
|--->Char--->Various sub pages
|--->Char--->Various sub pages
|--->Char--->Various sub pages
|--->Char--->Various sub pages
Now that I think about it you could put the Cantr front page before all of that, so really we should change the logout button to yet another back button.
(Which of course is silly since logging out changes your state, where as the others just change your position.)

well it may seem ambiguous when you see a note on the ground, look at it, and then press back and end up in your inventory
That confused me for a little bit.
That confused me for a little bit.

Ummmmmmm try using your browser's back button.
Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

Do PD members get that error, out of curiousity?

NOT IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES

I agree that the arrow to the left is a bit confusing. Not massively, just a bit. I have before now gone back to the Characters page by mistake because I actually wanted to go back to the last page I was on.
For example, say I am in my inventory. I go to the objects page, and then want to go back to the inventory. I sometimes see that nice back-type button and click on it - and of course I don't go back - to the inventory - I go out - to the characters page.
This is very similar to the twin use of the the X icon to mean both cease participation on a project, and cancel the project, depending on which bit of screen you're on.

Shame that's not yet been changed or accepted...
And I frequently use the browser back button - I know that we keep getting told not to, and about twice ever, I've had something telling me I am not allowed to see other events. I can cope with that sometimes as the browser back button is _so_ much more useful than the in-game ones.
Firstly, they actually go back to the last page you were on, not to the page they think you ought to be on.
Secondly, the browser can remember what the page looked like and reload instantly. The in-game buttons reload the whole page, and since this can often take a minute or two, and will certainly take a number of seconds rather than milliseconds, the browser back button wins hands down (sorry!).
So apologies but until the in-game buttons are quick and go where I want to go, I'll continue to ignore the request to use them

And the X that dooms all of your characters to oblivion...
But even the X button makes sense with the right perspective. The screen with the cancel project X is refering to the project only, not your character. So when you X it it X's the project. Whereas the main screen with the end participation X *is* showing the activity that your char is doing. So when you X it, it X's the participation. If that makes sense...
But anyway might as well make it easier on people and change them.

Except that's not the case.
If I go to the activities page, at the top there is an X meaning cancel participation, and at the bottom (assuming I initiated the project) there is an indentical X for the same project, this time meaning cancel the whole project.
