Postby Sekar » Sun Jan 07, 2007 1:51 pm

I am so greatful that the support staff is willing to do this. I thought I was going to have to wait forever. There is a body in a tandem bike called the
K S F Transport #2.

Just to avoid creating another thread, I'll infiltrate a question in this one. Hope you don't mind, Sekar. :P
It's just that I wanted to know whether this taking away bothersome bodies also works when there are bodies cramped in a shack, or if it is only applied to bodies stuck in vehicles, and why?

Sekar - The body has been moved to the ground

Skulty - We also unblock buildings as well as vehicles

Cool! I didn't know that!
So, what do you need to know in order to get a body out of a building? (location, name of the building, name of the body, or what else?)
Oh, and is there any way to know whether a prisioner is already dead when you can't enter the shack? There's this guy we thrown into a not-suposed-to-be-jail, and now he's stuck there with loads of food and we don't feel much like freeing him, but we can't be sure he's given up on living also, so we're left with no choice but to wait around ten years before opening the shack again to be sure he's dead... :? (And even then we'd have to ask you to take him out...)

The answer is no - We wouldn't intervene in a case like that.
Moving a dead body is one thing but informing a player that another character is live or dead would be a CRB

I was wondering this, too. If someone is in a building blocking it, howw do long must you wait before calling on staff for help... or is that building blocked forever? Or do we keep pestering you, and find out indirectly because you won't unblock it, that he is still alive?
At least with a vehicle you can see the occupant while he is alive.

It is a dilemma. Ultimately dead bodies do rot away to nothing (loosing weight as they do) , so no building can be permanently blocked by dead bodies alone. However the rotting process is extremely slow , over 1 RL year for full decomposition, also buildings (and vehicles) can be blocked permanently by dragging non-rotting items to them (though there are few of these and few people have 12,000 keys).

There are plans for allowing characters to drag items out of blocked buildings/vehicles from the outside but there are a lot of other things of higher priority for ProgD.

Alright, I understand. But can I make a last question? (it probably won't be the last, but I had to say that...)
Is there anyway to open a door from the outside? Cause it would make sense, and if we could, we would prefer to let the guy inside escape then lose our shack for years...

Only by breaking the lock, or dragging a copy of the key into the building.

Both methods still require the person or persons inside to move out of their own accord

Keys cannot be dragged, at least they couldn't be for a long time.

Oh! Breaking the lock! I didn't remember that! Well, it still isn't funny to destroy that lock, but it's either that or losing the shack for a very long time... :?
Well, thanks anyway, soon I'll come here to have a body removed.
Until then! :D

What Chris said is true with a caveat. As with all objects (excepting notes), you need the key to drag them through a door. So to drag a key through a locked door, you much have a copy of the key in your inventory as well.

Hmm, really? I didn't think it was that way.
