Ate too much...?

Postby Antacid » Fri Nov 24, 2006 12:58 pm

For one of my characters, I saw this event:

1724-1.19: You ate 133 grams of your smoked meat.

I thought the rate of eating smoked meat was 22 grams/day, so why did this happen?

And for another one:

1724-1.19: You ate 159 grams of your salted meat.

I thought this had an eating rate of 20 grams/day?
So why did he eat 8 days' worth of food at once...? :(

Partly it was a bug - this has been repaired.

The rest is a feature - please roleplay it in game ...

One of my characters still has this problems (happened various times), and now it gets tough for that person because there is nearly nothing to eat left.

I first thought it has to do with being faible or tired but this time I saw that there is only 1% tiredness but still the character ate 133g of smoked meat instead of the normal amount of 22g.

These are all:

Basically, your characters are stricken with random cases of insatiable and irresistible hunger as a way to discourage any activity other than bartering away one's life savings for food. Maybe Jos thought the server had too many characters on it. I have yet to see a pattern in how the cases are triggered. So, the only thing I can think of is drop whatever you're doing (you won't be able to get much done if the faintness kicks in anyway), grab as much food as you can, and pray it goes away before you die. :D

You gain 10% hunger a day if you don't eat, so if you have some place to put the food into without having to fear it gets stolen, you could go without eating for nine days and then take food. Hopefully you won't be eating too much anymore by then.

Okay...I better watch that. Thanks for the information! It's the only character I have who has this problem, that's why I thought it's a bug. :|

Lucky you. Seems that as soon as one of my chars kicks the eating habit, two more get it ><

i have found that its very good to drop all your food and pick up 1 gram a day. I dont know if this is retroactively making the sickness last longer, but i do know that all a character really needs is 1 gram of meat a day because his hunger hasnt gone up in 10 days and ive only eaten 10 grams of smoked meat ^_^ however, his hunger never goes down either...

So your hungerlevel doesn't rise while you eat 1 gram instead of 25!? That's not a bug but from a realitistic viewpoint that's absurd.

If it's not a bug then it's certainly a loophole... is this being fixed?
If you lose 10% hunger a day for eating nothing, then surely you lose 24/25 * 10% hunger if you eat only one gram of grilled meat...

Regardless of this mysterious illness, being able to do that means that those characters who own their own lockable storage (ie most of them) will hardly ever have to get any food ever... forget the eating bug, Catnrians that don't need to sleep *or* eat... unstoppable!

It would be fixed if it was ever broken in the first place .

There is no bug, eating works exactly like it always did , If you don't eat you hunger goes up , if you only eat half of what is required your hunger goes up by half the amount it would if you ate nothing.

The disease only effects the total amount required per day.

Has anyone died of this yet?
My char witnessed a death, but I am sure this was RP and the player quit.
