From my experience with my 11 english characters, I'd say that there is ALOT of english territory which hasn't been settled upon or even visited yet. One of my characters is trying to map an island and goes from place to place never seeing another character and recently this character found 2 bodies. Most places this character has been to don't have any sign of anyone having been there because this island is so huge (as far as I know). I guess in the english zone (from what I experience), characters who try to establish a form of government or order is trying to mimic RL morals/beliefs. I could be wrong and I probably am but this is just my opinion. :)

Hahaha good point!

Yeah, the English seem to think that if it they don't see anyone in a location, it's free for grabs. And not just on the new islands, I was once living in this spot on the Hills of Hilloi and there was no government because it wasn't really a town. I went to get limestone or something and when I got back, some dimwit of a newspawn had written megalomaniac plans about building a town there, written laws and all that shit. I think they had died before I came back but sure left behind a lot of building projects, some with a few grams of stone added. And there was also a law that the one resource that was special to this location, it may have been cobalt or something, bauxite...? Anyway, something most people have no use for. This kid had written that it's illegal for outsiders to gather it. Like how are you going to enforce that if you're a bloody newspawn with just bone tools?? Some big guy is gonna come over with a sabre and you're like "I'm the king, now you must give me iron to get these pretty stones". No witnesses. Most people would just kill the nuissance and take what he's gathered.

And the English seem to assume the Russian island is theirs because they have mostly settled in the opposite end from where the Russians live.

Lol, you would be suprised how easily manipulatable the average character is though. If you say a land is yours, it becomes yours, just because no-one disputes it when you say it.

Anyway, let's try to get this thread somewhat back on topic.

Language zones. Who else wants to relay their experiences? I personally am interested in knowing if it'll be worth spawning an Esperanto character >.>

My Esperanto is very weak, so I'm not a good guide in this, but my experience there so far is that the area is very, very underdeveloped. The problem is that they have a large number of animals and very few players. So if you like wilderness play, you might want to start an Esperanto char ;) ... It will at least be much appreciated, since that area is way too underdeveloped just thanks to a low population density.

Quite right. But the Esperanto island is not that undeveloped. You can't expect big industries, but the town(s) are as well developed as some of the towns I encountered in other language areas. But there's of course still much uninhabited land and masses of animals. You can quite well live by hunting.
The habitants are, as far as I met them, quite friendly and cooperative (or smurfy if you want to say so  ) and you don't have to fear about your language skills, you will hardly meet an native speakers.

From my experiances, polish is pretty not dence, and spread out. but i don't know to much.

It seems to me that some languages presume the worst easyer than others. Such as one time, in this place thats actually on that russian island/continent, was "settled" by polish peoples first, although there wasn't anyone there, there was a few machines, including a stone table and a simple smelter, and then a polish person actually came, with a sloop, who said that this was his land, and then an english buddy of mine put limestone and coal in a refigning project, and the polish person just went ballistic. One other englihs newspan started presuming bad things (like "he's going to stay in his boat and come out and hit us every day" and the like) and I wen't a little ballistic to (I said the short way of saying damnation) and said that they were all acting like idiots, becaus really almost everyone was, exept for me and a few other people who were trying to calm peoples down, and yea it was a really big mess.

so bottom line is, some language groups are more argumentative/presumtious than others.

Based on meeting a few Poles?? :) The Poles have a larger language area than the English! :)

And about density: yes, they're pretty spread out, but they also have the biggest cities ...

The Portuguese island is totally living in stone age. There are about 15 portuguese players and I can say none of them has ever seen iron or steel.

The problem is that the whole portuguese island is a mess right now. For some reason the Portuguese characters can spawn in the Lithuanian island and vise versa, that wouldn't be a problem if most of the Lithuanian charries didn't kill the portuguese charries upon realizing he is portuguese. The Lithuanians are way better prepared (armed with steel and iron) and they have no mercy, I already lost 3 charries to them. They also took over the regions with the resources used in making iron/steel.
It's almost impossible for the portuguese to fight back the lithuanians; our most advanced weapon is a bone spear

so yeah, Its hard being a portuguese character.

I would love the cantr world to become smaller..... and increase the population densities....

Add storms. Make it so that galleons and rakers can only be made of timber planks. Problem solved.
