Best gifts received?

Postby west » Sun Dec 24, 2006 8:19 am

So, what's the best gift you have gotten this holiday season?

(I expect this thread to be pretty dormant until after Christmas morning)

I got a one-month TotalFark subscription today. I thought that was pretty neat.

Don't celebrate any holidays around now so that's probably all I'll get.

Please note: By "best" I mean "most thoughtful" or "coolest" rather than biggest or most expensive. I'm not trying to promote consumerism or conspicuous consumption.

Mine cost $5 and has already paid for itself in entertainment value.

In Finland we're usually getting them on Christmas Eve after 6pm. I got one in mail though, and I unwrapped it straight away, and it was a book - a blank book. Handmade. Very tiny. I wonder what I'm supposta do with it. Is it just for decoration or for me to write something in it?

We don't exchange gifts during the Eid... Only older people give us (younger people) money. So far, I got about 200 Egyptian pounds.

We don't observe traditional holidays, but we do like to make year-end tax-deductible charitable donations in eachother's names, typically to local area food banks and soup kitchens.

Well, my uncle got me an air pump... Thanks dude, i guess...

Another one got me "the gift of geese," by which they donated money to support geese for an inpoverished farmer in my name, allowing him to sell the eggs. I guess this is probably the most thoughtful.

But i don't get to open the rest of them for at least 12 hours -_-
