The Great War Between TBR/Black Wolves and the K-Island

Postby kinvoya » Sun Dec 17, 2006 7:28 pm

It seems to me that the repercussions of these incidents have pretty much played out so I thought I'd start a thread for anyone who wants to discuss these events.

I'll wait for PD to give the OK or NoK before I write anything.

Seriously? OMG, I give up!

Edit: Yeah, no I don't. The war itself is long, long over. At some point any events stemming from the war are separate in and of themselves. Many other wars/massacres/events in game have been discussed even though repercussions were still playing out.

I think it's been plenty long enough. Maybe no one else is even interested in the discussion but I've always wanted to hear about things from others character's perspectives.

OK, then start with how Kinvoya's newspawn ends up in Nick's lap with all his stuff while her other is insinuating herself on the Kwor Council....
Can you be objective?

Let's wait for the OK from PD, as I said.

Also, wtf? Stop attacking me right out of the gate. This is for having fun discussing the events not for fighting.

Also, how do you know my characters (both of whom are from my old account and long dead)? My chars spawn where they will. Both of those stayed right where they spawned and lived their lives in a credible way. I resent your insinuations.

This leads me to believe that lots of discussion has already taken place except that I didn't get to participate.

The entire conflict seems to be known as the Burgeo Wars in Kwor. This seems to be uninvasive of the subject. I'd be curious to hear its other names.

How many actually died, Chris, and from which side?

And can we do this keeping living chars out of it?

Well if we are keeping living chars out of it I'l have to shut up ;)

But their version of events and what that character witnessed makes them think it was an unjustified and premeditated attempt to exterminate a whole people and culture - of course they aren't privy to all the facts nor final tallies of deaths either way but that's their conclusion .

My other characters who were on K-isle at the time differed in their opinions - one is still unconcerned and indifferent to the whole situation, the 2nd (now dead) was very actively involved in the K-isle side of things against TBR at a high level in the alliance but didn't take part in the Burgo expedition. That character firmly believed that it was a crusade against an evil and scourge which need to be wiped out - that being the leadership of TBR - not the tribe as a whole

Well, let's hear the stories of the dead chars then. Their motivations and their lives. Nick, and the other 2 from the tbr/wolves side, and the 15 or so from the rest of k-isle aligned against them, including firecam, kwor, karnon, kirinn, dedannans, etc. But I think this should end at Burgeorgialip. Fair enough?

Up until Nick and Steven were killed there were no casualties at all on the TBR side and, I think, about 6-9 on the island side plus a few prisoners of war. I totally thought TBR would win! It was thrilling while it lasted.

My char, Rosemary, was murdered as a prisoner of war while trying to flee. She was not quite 21 and had never killed anyone. She thought of the war as "OMG Everybody in the World is Trying to Kill Us!!!!" She never really understood why they were doing it but she was determined to protect her tribe.

you were rose? for some reason, i thought she was much older than that... anyway yeah, im not gona lie, how did you guys lose thost battles? you had practically the entire dannann force locked up. Nayr was dead Jim was dead...

My charrie has always wanted to know the details concerning the entire conflict, but came to the decision that he'd rather just live in blissful ignorance believing his side was in the right.

My only charrie with any connection to it spawned on Burgeo after the war was lost... it's still alive, but no longer connected in any way to the events there... All it saw was one side looting the survivors of the other, so it sees it as a disgusting event with atrocities on both sides.

The war was lost in just one final battle when Nick and Steven landed on a boat to attack and, like, six chars with crossbows ready instantly hit them and killed them. Another char in the boat with them was able to undock right away and bring the bodies back and tell the story.

After that we really didn't stand a chance. Hardly any of TBR was awake and Rosemary was weak and a lousy fighter. Nick, Steven, and a couple others were the whole force. It was really amazing what we were able to accomplish with so little. Capturing/killing the de Dannons was awsome!

I hardly have any transcripts so everything is from memory.
