One problem is that Cantr time is not linear. While one day equals one day irl, 10 days equals half a year. Tunics take two days based on some old rule, though judging from the simple design, I could make one in less than a day. But do cotton trousers really take just a day? Since in that case wow, they used to be 3 days.

I was saying they should take one day if they were to deteriorate, rather than the 12 they apparently take.

If you have cotton material and time, you can make trousers in one day, just as easily as a simple tunic.

I thought you had written half of 'em!

Yes, but making the cotton cloth is all part of making the trousers. So you kinda have to consider it as part of the same process...

I was just thinking of what Seko said about the tunic taking two days in Cantr and can be made in less than a day in real life; that two days doesn't include making the material, does it?

I wasn't referring to any of the cloth making process at that point, just comparing how you can make cotton trousers in one day just as well as a tunic if you have the material.

It will show what the character is focusing at, you're right there.

So, make clothes detoriate.

xD

I will continue tailoring clothes. I prefer to be dressed, even if it has no practical benefit.
But... bad weather, or at least temperature... when? ;)

I think the deterioration rate for the clothes is supposed to be slow enough for avoiding stupid situations like "oh, it took to me 7 days for making this cloak, but it is really nice... after being tailoring for half a year, now I have a complete clothes... oh, maybe not, my pants and mocassins are now crumbling -frowns-".
I mean... You could make a garment and you can expect that it lasts for at least ten times what it took to be made.

I don't think clothes should crumple during a lifetime. In real life, back in the old days an article of clothing may have been cycled through several people: they could take dad's old shirt and make a dress out of it for the toddler. But in Cantr, everyone is of the same size, so if you cut away pieces, it won't fit anymore.

And I may have done most of the writing for the new clothing articles but not the old ones. Besides, if you need to sit through watching your suggestion get dissected and turned upside down until it barely resembles what it was in the first place, you've gotten so tired of it that you might not wanna see it ever again... Exept for the leather longcoat, I'm happy with that one.

OK, I know, OFFTOPIC: Isn't a good time for thinking on a "cotton harvester machine" or something related to that?

Be said it's quite sad to remember this, but about cotton harvesting, the shackles came way before than the mechanical harvesters.
