Already tried this one ;)

Yeah I tend to send people in pairs. But sometimes they die anyway.

Some records: One guy (A) was send to get wood. He comes back Years after and is ready to go on another resource run right after. So I give him a bike this time and promise him a sword when he comes back. Some time later he returns, wounded, and just sits there on the bike without saying anything, then later he's standing on the yard without saying anything so I drag him inside. Soon after he gets a heart attack and poof.

Case two: I send two people (B & C) to get wood and what ever they might run into along the way. Later I ran into them with another character and I felt like saying OOC: Shouldn't you guys be going home already? But of course I didn't. One of them (B) is apparently kinda sleepy and the other one (C) starts getting sleepy as well. Then they finally start heading for home, but assumably C starves to death while sailing, and B docks at a town next to my town and just stands there getting bored until dropping dead as well. Later on the locals are nice enough to return the ship and the gathered goods.

Case three: I send three people (D, E, F) on a ship (though D much a stranger to me and E and F are from the next town over). They're gone for long so I send another boat after them with one person (G) on it. Loooong silence. Then I go out of town for about two years (due to somebody leaving apparently with an essential key I wasn't supposed to give them in the first place) and while I'm gone, G returns and my second-in-command (H) sends him to look for another resource runner (J) which he had sent earlier. When I come back, no one tells me G had returned in the middle. So I assume they had vanished as well. It doesn't help that there is a pirate ship on another island with the same name than the one boat G was sailing. Just of different type. And when my other character sees it, I start wondering, has that person gone rogue and I'm just remembering the boat type wrong?

As some bounty hunters stop by, I tell them to go check on the situation in this place D, E, F and G were headed for. Soon after G comes back from the Opposite way, telling person J had vanished, so I assume J is either dead or gone to do something else. Then E comes back telling F died, but no one knows a thing about what happened to D. And later on J comes back with a whole damn crew, clearly not dead.

Oh yeah and in some point I have send H, K and L off with some bikes, assuming that a group this big would have better chances of survival. Later I send one more person, M, to join them. And they're gone a long time. Then H comes back and doesn't say what's going on, just leaves again. Then M comes back and things are apparently ok. Then H and L come back and I'm like, well this is looking good, no death sofar. Well come hour 7 or when does eating process, L dies because the others hadn't been feeding her while she slept. But M says L was fine when he spoke to her last. Just waiting for K now.

It doesn't take much brains to be a town leader in Cantr, just as long as you're somewhat awake and preferrably older and carrying more stuff than your neighbours.

I think Seko is considered somewhat of a councillor though he never does anything but farm for asparagus and maybe help on some repairs, and is a total coward. He's such a slow reader that he rarely even takes a glance at notes, unless something of importance is especially pointed out, so he might well be breaking laws due to ignorace.

Another character of mine has impaired vision, cannot get up without help if sitting on flat ground, cannot lift more than three kilos at once and gets hysterical every time something out of the ordinary happens, but last time I heard people were still saying they need her.

So the character I was originally complaining about isn't that awful after all, especially since she can still kick people's ass and hold fiery propaganda speeches and has lately discovered a talent in building extra storage rooms.

In light of this new information I better turn them around before I go and get them killed from boredom... Good thing I enjoy my roadside hunting  I can RP it as road kill whether anyone is around to read it or not

Now I know one of my charries who is just walking around because he has nothing else to do saw someone kill an animal and shout roadkill...
Person: Akamada doesnt control the animals.

Person: I still dont believe you.

The snotty, self-proclaimed CRB police who disrupt the game over issues that aren't CRBs because they're in a snit over character interaction and have decided that Cantr truly is two-dimensional. And, in the process, create more trouble than the supposed infraction ever did.

I don't know about the 'snotty, self-proclaimed CRB police' but whatever happened it sounds like they're not the only ones in a snit right now...

And okay, my rant:

I can't say names yet, but I think I've said before how much I hate it when characters go around acting normally right up to the last minute while their players are busy starving them in secret.

I think I have an idea who the player was because of the way they emote, but I guess it'll be at least four days before I can find out. I imagine I won't be the only one posting about this too... :(

Also, seeing I've seen this happen several times, I wonder if it's worth making a post in the Suggestions forum about making the hunger bar more visible. Wouldn't the fact that a person is staggering around looking like a Holocaust victim be a lot more noticeable then exactly how tired they are anyway?

Yes, it's starting to grate my nerves because for some reason it's been happening more and more in the past two months. People are becoming too anal, they're jumping on newbies making honest mistakes, they're trying to use the CRB to discredit other players because it will have an in-game advantage for them.

The CR is a good one and I understand completely why it exists, but when people follow it to its very letter and flip out at anyone who doesn't do the same - it's annoying as hell. Play the damn game. The world is not green and flat. If someone doesn't interpret the rule the way that you do, but the admins haven't said anything about it - deal with it. If someone is new, cut them some slack - that's the future of Cantr right there.

I've seen about four different instances in the past three weeks of people using the CR as an excuse to either disrupt play and/or act like jerks. Get over yourselves. If they have a problem, they need to in-game PM the other player or report it. Not go off on some self-righteous rant or make snide asides or what have you. That's what the forums are for.

Especially, Marian, the Rant Thread.

My thought of the day...
I was just thinking about all the changes that have occured in my life over the past 2 years... I have made some pretty awesome friends, and met some pretty amazing people... one in particular has made a profound change in my life.

I have been through alot of good changes, and some events have been pretty harsh and hard to handle... I feel like such a yoyo with my emotions anymore and I find that I cry far to often...

I have let these emotions carry through into my charris, and that is not good. It has effected .. at least one... very badly as it chased away the love of her life...

I have been thinking hard as to cutting back my charris, putting more effort into those I keep... but that will never happen... I can't let them starve. I have tried...I always give in and feed them

If you are around my charris, I am sure you have noticed thier changes, and I am so sorry that I let my real life drain into theirs. A few may still die.. but they won't have much effect on anyone, as being alive doesn't, why would their death.

I found that I too have become more quiet, in chat and the forums... this is most likely because, I don't always want to be cloudi... so I stay a quiet Sunni rather than a crybaby Cloudi.......

Because of my work, the friends I have live in this little box. Granted, this means no matter where I am..I have all of you... but it also means some lonely times, I want to feel hugs, hear laughter...see smiles... watch a show with someone, go the the oceanfront with someone... just sit on the Lenai with someone......

Somedays I let this loneliness get the best of me..and I am sorry to those I have taken it out on... sometimes I wonder if it would be best to just shut this down and not come back for awhile... but what good would that do? Then I would be totally friendless...

anyways... enough sob story... just my thoughts today is all.... Tomarrow.. things may change.

I've suggested once before I think that it would be nice if the "You are hungry" bit was actually noted in a bright non-cantr'ish color like bright purple. I've sometimes gone a few days without realizing one of my chars was hungry. People tend to get in the habit of skimming their events looking for areas where someone has spoken to them or said their name and forget to look at those little, "you are hungry" things somehow/their brain just doesn't let them. Just a thought.
I hate people.

Agreed. I've known several instances where characters have accidently starved.

A real shame. :(

I just hate it when I see people online and if I happen to have a character with them, how they don't play, making me wait days for a response and then silence once again!

Umm, my rant was much more general and some of you seem to believe, it wasn't directed at one person, more like something I have started to notice. Anyways, everyone else is why my characters are bored cause I can't rp alone dammit! :P
