Alright, let's define 'perfection'. I can think of three helpful definitions, either
a)All powerful
b)Capable of sustaining itself regardless of outside conditions
c)Fulfillment of every possible goal without any flaws or setbacks in the face of any amount of adversity.
Of course, 'c' can be branched out into two, one implying that the amount of adversity must be finite, and one stating that it can be infinite or not, it doesn't matter.
As far as 'c' goes (the perfection I was referring too, and sorry for the confusion), I think the answer is yes.
You need to have a balance between happiness and sadness or happiness becomes meaningless and turns to boredom.
You need to have a balance between order and chaos, as too much of the former leads to a void of creativity and free will and too much of the latter leads to anarchy, an environment in which it is almost impossible to accomplish any but the most basic tasks (i.e. survival).
You need a balance between Body, Mind and Soul to be a good person. With too little Body, you are weak and unproductive, incapable of carrying out plans developed by the Mind or fulfilling the intentions of the Soul. You must rely on others to do your work for you, and convincing them to do so can be difficult.
Without enough Mind, you are incapable of forming your own plan of action. You may want to do what's best for you or for another, but you won't be able to figure out how to do that. You'll have to rely on someone else to make the plan for you, and you can bet that it will benefit them more than it will benefit you.
Without enough Soul, you can never be truly happy because you can't be trusted (as you are amoral and back-stabbing), won't have friends, and will probably develop extreme paranoia. There's also an intangible feeling that I know I feel (can't speak for you) when I'm doing something good.
You need evil, because without evil there is only good, so choosing good is inevitable and thus no test of your compassion or sense of justice.
Pie, to be perfectly frank, you wouldn't be boring if you were balanced. You CAN achieve balance by eliminating the dis-balancing parts, but I think it is better to add than to take away. Instead of removing eccentricity, just balance it with hyper-productivity.
