Wooden Cart???

Postby Elros » Thu Nov 09, 2006 7:51 am

I don't know if it has been suggested, but why do we have a Small Wooden Cart, but not a Wooden Cart, or Large Wooden Cart? I think we need a vehicle a little bigger that can travel on land and made out of easier to find materials. Maybe a land vehicle that is somewhat equivalent to a longboat. I was thinking it could use wood and maybe any other animal product or fairly easy to obtain item.

Mainly just some sort of vehicle that doesn't use metal or rubber, but is better than a Small Wooden Cart. Maybe make up for it in a longer build time or something.

Any Comments?

*You see a man pulling on a sled made of various animal hides* :o

This could lead to more things to be done with hide.

- Primitive Hide Canoes
- Primitive Hide WigWams
- Primitive Hide Tipis

Speaking of canoes, we could have bark as a new resource.
- Primitive clothing weaved with bark
- Bark Canoes (like rl birch bark canoes)

Primitive Hide Cart
- A cart made with a wooden frame, covered with hide.

This barely relates to what Elros said, but his post really triggered stuff in my head. :s

EDIT:

and with animal domestication, horse/oxen pulled wagons! or you could get a bunch of newspawn slaves! ....or just pull it yourself.

I think there is no "large wooden cart" or something like that, just because small wooden cart is already heavy enough to be pulled/pushed.

There's no other carts because I didn't get back to designing any more before I left RD. I had planned to work on larger and ~faster~ carts, but the opprotunity never presented itself.

I'll leave it up to RD to decide ~if~ we even need any other metalless land vehicles.
Reality was never my strong point.
