Ok, not going to squabble too much over iron conversion rates, but this is pretty close to what I had:
Using a well comes out as 1050 iron needed for one cup of tea, so the less good option.
Using a water pump involves:
40 - for wooden trowel needed to make oven
200 - for shovel needed to make water pump
60 - for screwdriver needed to make water pump
150 - for wrench needed to make water pump
675g steel = 405g iron - 75 for wrench and 600 for water pump itself
Total = 40+200+60+150+405 =
855 iron for one cup of tea.
I think fkahf got 460 instead of 360 iron needed for the water pump's steel, but for the sake of a typo, I'm giving you the prize for that one.
Makes me thank the world for the ease with which I can make a cup of tea in RL!
