Crazy People?

Postby wasteddave » Sat Feb 07, 2004 12:10 pm

Why do some place seem to attract such a disproportionately large number of crazy people?

I'm really thinking of places like Pok who always seem to have a new insane character.

Is it realy because of the sand or is there some other explanation?

Quillanoi has a lot too. There's sand there also, but no desert.
I think the reason might be that those places are fairly safe and stable so crazy characters don't have to worry about being killed for being ehm... different. They can get all the things they need to survive without complex interactions with other people which are usually hindered by there umm... conditions.

Mostly in my experience the crazy people have allways appeared where the place is very boring which happens sometimes in Quillinoi and Pok.

I agree it's due to the relaxed enviroment around the character.

Yeah, characters like that would not last long in Lad or another authoritarian dictatorship.

Or anywhere near a few of my characters....not that they're violent power hungry people, they're just what I refer to as VPHPs.
