If you have applied in the past to programming please reapply.
personnel@cantr.net
With the current staff not available much there is a slight change in the requirements.
It used to be when you were in you had to get access to everything to be productive. Jos has done alot of work to partition the access needed for different roles.
I am willing to show or help people with thier programming when I can. This is probally the best way to learn programming in pratice since it is working on something you already like. You won't pick up on much programming theory that you would get in a real class. And programming is not the path to sucess it once was. But it will definitly fill as much time as you have. And it is very rewarding to see your changes show up on the green screen.
I do not make the decison on who gets in or not. And we may want to trail this new level of programming particpation to see how pratical it is. So there may only be one selected for now or something.
There are also non-programming things that can be done too which is pretty much where I have had to limit myself too.

My parents told me you were an idiot.
2 reasons: You don't know what you're talking about, and you have obnoxiously large graphics in your signature.
Cows are sacred to Hindus, Indio, so they roam basically wherever they want in India. And there's plenty of 'em.
There are plenty of Indians who eat meat, too.
Also, most people end questions with this little character: '?'
Use it, love it.[/quote
You guys need to chill out, 2 reasons:
I was having a bit of fun(aparantly thats unheard of on this forum)
If you care less how big my signiture is you take life far too seriously now shoo child and go to bed(that was a joke aswell OK!)

umm... I'm not touching the personal argument surrounding the meat/India discussion, but from what I gather from this thread and my knowledge of History it seems to me that meat curry is likely an Indian dish because...
What I gathered from this thread:
1. meat is somewhat of a delicacy there.
My knowledge of History:
There were at least four foriegn cultures that conquered parts or most of India... 1. Greeks, 2. Persians (including Persian Muslims and pre-Islamic Persians) 3. Arabs (post-Muhammad) 4. The British
The Arabs and Persians that ruled India for centuries most likely adopted Indian culinary techniques and included meat. The British later liked to use the Arab-Persian Indian Muslims as their "middle-men" after they conquered India... they sort of had a pecking order, they saw themselves as superior to both native Indians and Arab/Persians, but saw the Arab/Persians above the other Indian groups, by virtue of the fact that the British essentially followed in the footsteps of Arab Imperialism in India... so they even learned certain Imperialist methods for dealing with India by the established Muslim aristocracy. (this is all seperate from the Hindu caste system, but I imagine may have influenced Islam in India making it less egalitarian than it was in Spain, Persia, and other regions) This hierarchical belief system based on innate qualities is absurd, but being a super-power for awhile does that to a culture...
So meat eating associated with the Muslim aristocracy makes sense to me...

If someone can teach me I can code...
No complier required.
Since the results of the code are something you understand by playing the game then I think it would be easy to pick up. But that is a guess.

I guess I forgot that part. It was such a long endevor. I kept saying "No really I think we have enough now. Let's go home." But nooooo. One more region forsaken by the gods after the next.
Oh now I remember. I deserted in Afganistan. The place was like and entire region surrounded by multiple layers of 1000 ft and higher walls.

David wrote:What is it MySQL, and PHP? I basically just know the names of the two, and that they are server side script languages that require no compiler (based on what you said)... heh other than that I know nothing... where to start? How do I make the classic "Hello World!" program heh?
Sign up and I'll tell you everything.
www.php.org & www.mysql.org for a start. (I think those are the right addresses).
But really if you start with "How does talking work" it is easier to pick it up.
